Job Description

Do you want a challenging job where you contribute to an important societal function with good colleagues? As an operations technician in the utility network, you are given your own responsibility, development opportunities, and a future-proof job to be proud of together with competent and collaborative colleagues. To thrive and succeed as an operations technician, you should have a strong interest in development and changes, especially in technology. Experience as a TV inspector, vacuum truck driver, and work on municipal utility networks is advantageous, but what really matters is your willingness and commitment to grow in the role of operations technician. Your ability to collaborate and meet both internal and external customer expectations is crucial, as the role involves a lot of customer contact.

You will come to a workplace with good camaraderie and pride in our goals and socially important assignments where you are given the opportunity to influence both the work and your professional development. We care about our employees and invest in participation and development as well as a balance between work and leisure, offering among other things wellness time, wellness grants, and the possibility of vacation day conversion. We actively work to ensure that VA SYD is perceived as a very good workplace by our employees. VA SYD is proud to be the recipient of the award “Excellent Employer 2024” from the Key Figures Institute, which shows that our investments in a sustainable working life yield results.

The position is a permanent full-time employment (daytime) and you will be employed by VA SYD. You will be based at the newly renovated facility on Agnesfridsvägen in Malmö. On-call work may be included in the role.

Warm welcome with your application, no later than April 6.

VA SYD works with a competency-based recruitment process. This means that all applicants are assessed based on the same criteria and prioritized competencies. Our interviews focus on the competencies that are important for the role, which include professional experience, knowledge, and behaviors. We have removed the personal letter from our process and will instead ask you to briefly motivate why you are applying for the job and answer some selection questions based on the requirements of the role, for those who proceed in the first selection. This way, we save both your and our time by making it clear to you what to focus on, and we can match the right candidate for the role and make an efficient and fair selection. To ensure the quality of the recruitment process at VA SYD and enable good communication with our applicants, we ask you to apply online via the link in the advertisement. VA SYD conducts socially important activities and therefore places high demands on security and confidentiality awareness among our employees. Some of our positions are security classified, which means that you as an applicant may need to undergo a security review before employment in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585). Some of our positions may also involve military placement.
