The mobile advice and support team of Stockholm City Mission targets people living in social and/or economic exclusion. We offer support to individuals who wish to change their life situation.

We are now looking for two experienced and self-driven social workers to join our team!

About the role

As a representative, your main task is to provide support individually and in groups to ensure that individuals have their social rights met through third parties and/or knowledge of possible courses of action in relation to applicable laws and regulations. The role also includes being responsible for, planning, and leading discussion groups as well as folk education in groups, e.g., group counseling on social rights. The work is based in central Stockholm, but we operate mobile in various areas to be present where the needs are greatest. The operation is newly started, and we look forward to you sharing your knowledge to develop the mobile operation. The role includes collaborating with external actors and participating in mapping which places and areas have a need for our interventions.

You have:

• A degree in social work or another higher education qualification that we assess as equivalent
• Documented experience working with vulnerable individuals
• Knowledge of/experience in asylum processes, migration law, and/or social law
• Documented experience in conducting individual conversations and/or group discussions
• Good knowledge of motivational interviewing (MI)

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience in public authority exercise
• Language skills beyond Swedish and English, such as Dari, Persian, Arabic, and Spanish.

You identify with the values and mission of Stockholm City Mission. You are creative and solution-focused. Furthermore, you have good collaboration skills and can work and communicate with a range of stakeholders. The work also involves informing about the operation and identifying systemic shortcomings in society. You have good communication skills and can express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.

The positions are located in the Mobile Support Unit within the Meeting Places area and are 100% temporary positions. Start date: 2025-05-01 to 2025-12-31 with good chances of extension.
