Traffic Safety Manager at the Swedish Armed Forces
Do you want to be a key person in the traffic safety work within the Swedish Armed Forces' logistics? We are looking for someone with experience in vehicle services who wants to take the next step in their career. In this role, you will combine your practical experience with the opportunity to influence and further develop traffic safety work within the unit.
About the unit:
As a Traffic Safety Manager, you will belong to the Technical and Operational Support Department at FMLOG Headquarters. The department consists of three sections: Technical and Maintenance, Infrastructure, and Operational Safety. These sections are responsible for leading and following up on the unit's technical services, material and supply issues, command system issues, infrastructure, operational safety, as well as environmental and quality issues.
The role of Traffic Safety Manager is located in the Operational Safety section, where a Deputy Traffic Safety Manager is also situated.
Main responsibilities:
As the Traffic Safety Manager, you will lead and coordinate traffic safety work within FMLOG and be responsible for ensuring the quality of vehicle training in the area over time. You will work both operationally and strategically to develop traffic safety within the unit.
You will report directly to the head of the Swedish Armed Forces Logistics regarding traffic safety work but will report to the head of the Operational Safety section for other staff work.
The work includes, among other things:
- Establishing and updating governing documents, such as traffic safety plans and training plans.
- Leading, coordinating, and supporting the unit in traffic safety work.
- Participating in development work within vehicle services in the Swedish Armed Forces.
Education and development opportunities
We are looking for someone with experience in vehicle services who wants to develop in traffic safety and also towards the role of military traffic inspector. The military traffic inspector role provides a new dimension of responsibility and influence in traffic safety work within the unit. The training for military traffic inspectors is coordinated within the Swedish Armed Forces and runs parallel to regular work.
Qualifications:
To apply, you must have or have had a permanent military position in the Swedish Armed Forces.
- Have worked or are working as a vehicle instructor.
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.
- Hold a civilian driver's license class B and C.
Meritorious:
- Experience in systematic traffic safety work.
- Have worked or are working as a military traffic teacher.
- Hold a civilian driver's license class CE.
Personal qualities:
In the role of Traffic Safety Manager, it is important that you have the ability to work independently, see the big picture, and make decisions in line with higher management's intentions.
You are a team player with good collaboration skills and contribute to strengthening the traffic safety culture within the Swedish Armed Forces. At the same time, you have good analytical skills and can work independently to develop processes and governing documents.
A high level of security awareness is essential for you. The position also requires you to be able to switch pace as needed while being meticulous and structured.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

- Employment type: Permanent position with a six-month probationary period.
- Employment rate: Full-time.
- Work location: Stockholm but operations are conducted throughout the country.

- The work involves travel, mainly within Sweden.
