Environmental Coordinator in Luleå

Luleå is facing an expansive phase where both existing and new actors are investing heavily, especially in the green industrial transition. As part of the Environmental and Building Department, you will play a central role in the municipality's development and sustainability work.

In this role, you will be a key person helping actors understand and manage environmental-related requirements before a formal application is submitted. You will serve as a link between businesses, citizens, and municipal officials to ensure that the right environmental considerations are taken from the start. The role is new and will be an important part of making it easy for our citizens and businesses to comply with the requirements for a long-term sustainable development of society.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibilities as an environmental coordinator include, among other things:

Providing guidance and support in the environmental field in early stages.
Coordinating and guiding businesses and citizens in environmental-related issues.
Helping to manage challenges related to contaminated land, waste management, and environmental impact.
Ensuring that relevant environmental requirements are met in planned projects.
Serving as a link between actors and municipal officials.
Balancing societal demands and project needs in a pedagogical and solution-focused manner.
Participating in case management as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

An academic degree related to the position that the employer deems relevant for the assignment.
Good communication skills and experience in customer dialogue.
Solution-oriented with an understanding of environmental legislation and sustainability issues.
The ability to guide and explain complex environmental processes clearly.
Experience working with the Environmental Code is an advantage.
Experience with municipal processes is a plus.
Good collaboration skills with both internal and external actors.
