About the Company

Do you want to help drive safety and work environment efforts in one of Scandinavia's leading companies in rock work? We are looking for a committed and solution-oriented KMA resource who wants to make a difference in Kiruna and Gällivare!

Bergteamet AB was founded in 1999 and is today one of Scandinavia's largest contracting companies in underground rock work. We specialize in underground infrastructure and perform tasks that include excavation work, rock reinforcement, and driving shafts, ramps, and tunnels. With over 200 employees, we combine technical expertise with industry-leading safety thinking and effective problem-solving. Our goal is to deliver sustainable solutions that meet our customers' high demands while contributing to a safe and developing work environment for our employees.

Your Responsibilities

This is an operational role – you will need to be physically present in Bergteamet's operational areas.

As a KMA resource at Bergteamet, you play a central role in our work environment efforts, which are crucial to ensuring a safe and secure work environment for all our employees. You assist site managers and staff in the systematic work environment efforts according to applicable regulations and local guidelines. Through operational presence and a structured approach, you work proactively to prevent accidents and incidents. Most of the work takes place in the field, where you actively participate in work tasks and inspections. This is not an office-based position – you are expected to be on-site and present in daily operations to ensure a safe and secure work environment.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Physical presence in the field: You actively participate in work tasks and inspections to ensure that work environment regulations are followed and that work is carried out with high safety and quality. Working hours primarily follow the morning shift.
  • Proactive work environment efforts: Report and follow up on work environment incidents to ensure that measures are taken and that similar incidents do not recur. Conduct regular safety rounds and inspections to identify and address risks before they lead to accidents or incidents.
  • KMA coordination: Monitor and coordinate KMA-related aspects within the organization. Participate in and lead meetings on work environment and safety to ensure that everyone is informed about current issues and measures.
  • Update risk assessments: Write and update existing risk assessments and ensure that these are correctly published and easily accessible to employees.

Your Background/Attributes

We are looking for someone who is engaged, solution-oriented, and has a strong ability to collaborate. You are passionate about work environment and safety, and have a strong ability to listen, communicate, and build trust. You take personal responsibility and are used to planning and prioritizing.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Experience working and driving vehicles underground is a must!
  • Documented experience in work environment efforts within the mining industry.
  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Driver's license B and fluent Swedish and English in speech and writing.

Meritorious:

  • Experience in accident investigation.
  • Experience creating presentation materials, manuals, and guides for training purposes.

We Offer:

We offer an exciting and challenging role in a prominent organization, with the opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of safety routines and work environment. You will also have the opportunity for personal and professional development in a dynamic work environment with engaged colleagues.

Other

The position is full-time with the main location in Kiruna, but travel to Gällivare is included. Due to changes in the law (2010:1011) regarding flammable and explosive goods (LBE), suitability testing via MSB may be required for the position.
