Subject
Human Rights
Subject Description
The postdoctoral researcher will develop research concerning national aspects of human rights and obligations in Sweden and other Nordic countries regarding, for example, children, the elderly, indigenous peoples, and minorities.
This includes comparative issues in relation to European countries regarding the implementation and compliance with various commitments made through accession to international treaties such as the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the European Convention on Human Rights. The area also includes questions about how Sweden and other Nordic countries could strengthen national protection of human rights by actively contributing to the formulation of new international agreements in favor of certain groups such as the elderly or to address new challenges such as climate change and its impact on human rights.
The postdoctoral position is funded by a donation from the Lennart Blecher family.
The postdoctoral researcher will be part of a research group with an individual project. Professor Jessica Almqvist is the research leader and coordinator for the projects funded by the Blecher family's donation concerning human rights with a focus on Sweden and the Nordic countries. Within the framework of the donation's subject focus on human rights, the faculty has engaged three guest professors. The postdoctoral researcher will work closely with the research leader and guest professors as well as with other researchers and colleagues in the field of human rights at the faculty.
Responsibilities

Eligibility

For postdoctoral researchers, the general eligibility requirement is to be suitable for and have the ability otherwise needed to fully perform the tasks in the current employment.
