The Psychosis Area in Malmö/Trelleborg is tasked with providing effective psychosis care through respectful interactions to enable a better life for people with psychosis. In outpatient and inpatient care, we assess, investigate, diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate patients with diagnoses such as schizophrenia, delusional symptoms, schizoaffective disorders, and other conditions where psychosis development is suspected. The Psychosis Area offers psychiatric interventions for individuals with psychosis issues. We base our approach on a holistic view of mental health that combines medical, psychological, and social interventions.

The Psychosis Area consists of four outpatient clinics and three units providing inpatient care. Ward 88 is an inpatient ward with 13 beds for patients with psychotic disorders and disabilities, as well as first-time psychosis patients. Here, patients are treated voluntarily but also under the Psychiatric Compulsory Care Act (LPT).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you a trained nurse with an interest in psychiatry? Then you might be our new colleague!

We offer an engaging and exciting job with colleagues who have extensive experience in psychosis care. You will have a developing role, both professionally and personally, where opportunities for development and focus are guided by the needs of our patients and their relatives. As a nurse, you will be responsible for the care of our patients and participate in medication, assessment, and documentation in our journal systems. Care is provided in collaboration with the unit's outpatient clinics, other units in the hospital, and the municipality. Nursing documentation is done in the Melior data system, according to the VIPS model.

Region Skåne invests in increased competence development for nurses. For newly graduated nurses, there is a clinical foundation year that includes lectures, clinical skills training, and access to a mentor. For those who wish to specialize, educational benefits are offered in prioritized areas. The goal for the Psychosis Area is for as many nurses as possible to have further education in psychiatry. By continuously developing our staff, we can provide better care for our patients. We continuously create opportunities for study leave. Additionally, we are generous with other training, both internally and externally.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome both newly graduated and experienced registered nurses with the qualifications to work in Swedish healthcare. Furthermore, you must have language skills in Swedish that correspond to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale. It is considered an advantage if you have education in psychiatry and experience working with various operational systems.
