Company Description
Business Unit (BU) Vattenfall Power Solutions is a business unit of approximately 600 people within Business Area (BA) Vattenfall Generation that trains personnel in Swedish nuclear power, delivers nuclear fuel to Vattenfall's nuclear power plants, develops and implements projects and assignments, and provides internal technical specialist services for all of Vattenfall's operations, corporate staff, and stakeholders. This involves activities such as developing and providing training, project management and project support, analysis management and investigation, product development, nuclear safety, and dust safety assignments. The focus within the business unit Vattenfall Power Solutions is to develop our capabilities in project management and selected technical key disciplines. We actively work with continuous improvement initiatives and development of our models, where our work and expertise create significant value for Vattenfall and its investments.
About the Role

The Technology Department at Business Unit Vattenfall Power Solutions develops and implements projects and assignments and provides internal technical specialist services in a consolidated competence center for Vattenfall's operations, corporate staff, and stakeholders. This involves activities such as feasibility studies, analyses, investigations, and design within all our energy sources. The focus within the business unit is to develop our expertise in strategic areas to support Vattenfall's transition to a fossil-free future.
To meet future energy needs, we are now facing an exciting future with new production and operational time extensions in nuclear power, as well as modernization of hydropower. Do you want to be part of this transition and contribute to a fossil-free society? We are now looking for you who are an engineer in Electrical Engineering.

Depending on where in the country you are located, you will belong to the grouping in the west or east. On the west coast, the group consists of about 10 employees working with facility design in process, electrical engineering, and I&C. On the east coast, the group consists of about 15 employees working with analysis and construction in electrical engineering and I&C. In total, we are about 20 employees in the area of electrical engineering and I&C, and in order to take advantage of each other's expertise and experiences, we are part of a common functional area.
Your Responsibilities
As an engineer with us, you will work on a variety of issues with varying complexity. As we are in a time where we need to prepare for new nuclear power and upgrade our aging facilities to operate for many years to come, the work involves finding innovative solutions that enable us to integrate modern technology with existing systems, which together meet modern requirements and provide high availability.
The work is varied and depends on your background, but based on the needs of the ordering organization, the work may involve:
- identifying and formulating requirements from the facility and stakeholders
- developing and evaluating conceptual solutions
- preparing documentation/conditions for construction and procurement
- leading the technical parts in the implementation phase
- reviewing documentation for quality assurance regarding verification and validation

Requirements
We are looking for you who have
- education as a bachelor's engineer, master's engineer, or similar in a relevant field, or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways
- at least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering issues within the process or power industry
- good ability to express yourself in speech and writing, both in Swedish and in English
- driver's license B

You thrive in independent work as well as in a leading role, where you guide the technical work. You can, in situations characterized by difficulties or uncertainties, conduct structured and qualitative work with the help of your analytical skills and attention to detail. You have good collaboration skills and with your responsiveness, you find it easy to create and maintain relationships, and also manage many contacts.

Location Solna, Gothenburg, Uppsala, Västerås, Gävle, Nyköping, or Oskarshamn. Travel is a natural part of the job, but we actively work with technical solutions to reduce the amount of travel.
