Stora Enso is a leading global provider of renewable solutions in packaging, biomaterials, wood products, and paper, making us a part of the bioeconomy.

Skutskär Mill is a production facility for biomaterials with a 100-year history. Today, the mill is a modern high-tech workplace focused on efficient and resource-saving production while considering our local environment.

Skutskär Mill produces 520,000 tons of paper and fluff pulp, which our customers further process into graphic fine paper, cartons, airlaid, and hygiene products.

Responsibilities and main tasks:

As a system engineer, you will play a central role in ensuring reliable and efficient operation of our automation equipment. This contributes to maintaining high product quality, minimizing production downtime, and increasing productivity.

Some examples of your main tasks include:

• Responsibility for planning preventive maintenance on automation equipment

• Development and implementation of maintenance plans in collaboration with other departments

• Troubleshooting and corrective actions during production disturbances

• Supporting the production organization with automation expertise

• Participating in the development of improvement projects and proposals for process optimizations

• Preparing documentation for investments and major repairs

• Identifying and evaluating opportunities for upgrades and improvements of automation and process equipment to increase efficiency

Who are we looking for?

Formal qualifications and education are important, and we place great emphasis on personal suitability. To succeed in the role of system engineer, a high degree of structure and the ability to see the whole picture and context is required.

We see that you are results-oriented and have good collaboration skills. You enjoy varied tasks and feel comfortable working both independently and in a team. Furthermore, you have the ability to critically review information, assess, and take appropriate actions in consultation with stakeholders.

Other qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in automation, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a similar relevant field, or possess equivalent experience.

• Experience in maintenance within a production environment, preferably in the pulp and paper industry.

• In-depth knowledge of automation equipment, systems, and components.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• You share Stora Enso's values of “Lead” and “Do What’s Right,” which means high personal integrity, accountability, and courage.

• You highlight and challenge existing working methods when you see opportunities for improvement and development.

• Good understanding and knowledge of CMMS systems as well as good skills in MS Office and other digital tools.

The following experiences are advantageous:

• Experience working with PLC systems and DCS systems

• Knowledge of LEAN and other production improvement methods

• English

The position is a permanent employment. Daytime work. Some flexibility with a hybrid work model can be discussed. Some travel may occur in the position.
