Contracting
We are looking for a survey engineer who wants to contribute to Uppsala's positive development. The work is versatile and makes a significant difference for many people. Constantly facing new and exciting challenges contributes to personal growth. Here, you will work with measurements in the field and with planning, calculations, and reporting in our office or at our workplaces. Does this sound like you and seem interesting? Welcome with your application today!
Uppsala is expanding rapidly and has high ambitions regarding urban development. We rank as one of Sweden's four major cities with over 240,000 inhabitants, and one of the goals is for the municipality to grow to 350,000 inhabitants by 2050. We actively work with urban densification and have distinguished ourselves as one of the country's leading municipalities in how we work with land allocations, where we seriously challenge ourselves and the construction industry. The result is that we, together with a growing number of builders, contribute to an attractive and varied urban environment.
The Project & Contracting unit consists of about 70 people distributed across several units. Within the area, we work together on behalf of the street and community environment committee, and we are responsible for planning and constructing the municipality's streets, parks, and natural areas. The contracting unit carries out construction and water and sewage projects, such as playgrounds, streets, pedestrian and bicycle paths, water and sewage works, and more.
Your Assignment
As a survey engineer at Uppsala Municipality, you will primarily be in the field on our construction assignments. Your tasks will vary between establishing control networks/construction networks, detail measurements, construction/installation setting out, volume determination, quantity regulation, preparing documentation for as-built drawings, and financial follow-up. Generally, you will work both with measurements in the field and with planning, calculations, and reporting in our office or at our workplaces.
Your Background
We are looking for someone who is a trained survey engineer or has other education that the employer deems relevant for the position. To succeed in the role, you need at least 3 years of work experience as a survey engineer. If you also have experience with technical descriptions and instructions, as well as experience with Trimble measuring instruments and SBG Geo, it is considered an advantage. The work also requires that you have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form, good computer skills, and a B driver's license. It is a plus if you have knowledge of technical descriptions and instructions.
As a person, you find it easy to make decisions based on available information and act accordingly. You are flexible and see opportunities in changes. Furthermore, you take the initiative and start activities to achieve results. Additionally, you are communicative and have an easy time listening and adapting your communication style.
