The Quality Control Chemistry department is located in Uppsala and is responsible for the control of the final product and participates in several development projects. The laboratory is well-equipped and currently employs about 55 engaged, competent, and responsible individuals who work together to achieve the company's goals. The dominant analytical techniques in the laboratory are chromatography, spectroscopy, wet chemistry, and microscopy.

Responsibilities

As a Laboratory Engineer, your main tasks and responsibilities include:

• Independently perform work according to method descriptions, instructions, and/or experimental plans
• Carry out laboratory tasks using techniques such as GC and HPLC, according to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice)
• Compile, review, and report results according to GMP
• Initiate and investigate deviations
• Plan your own work according to given priorities and timelines
• Actively participate in improvement work within the area
• Issue and update instructions and rationales
• Write protocols and annual reports
• Be responsible for instruments and rooms

As a Team Leader, you are also responsible for:

• pulse meetings
• ensuring that the group's tasks are conducted in accordance with governing documents, quality policy, GMP/ISO, and set goals
• planning the group's work according to given priorities and timelines
• following up on goals for the group and reporting to the section manager
• actively participating in improvement work and being responsible for distributing time so that the group's operational improvement work continues
• actively working with engagement and well-being by providing feedback and working towards the group's development

About You

To be successful in this role, you are meticulous, quality-conscious, and flexible. You have good collaboration skills as you will work closely with both colleagues in the laboratory and other functions within the company. You also enjoy driving work forward independently. The pace can sometimes be high combined with short deadlines, which requires a good ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple ongoing activities simultaneously.

We are looking for someone with:

• an academic degree in analytical chemistry or equivalent, as well as practical experience in analytical chemistry, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry
• good knowledge of GMP
• good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form, as these languages are used in daily work.
