We are looking for you to join the unit for environmental assessment and water activities to work with the assessment of environmentally hazardous activities according to Chapter 9 of the Environmental Code.

Decisions in assessment matters under Chapter 9 of the Environmental Code are made by the Environmental Assessment Delegation, which is an independent decision-making body at the County Administrative Board of Dalarna. The work with environmental assessment involves preparing assessment matters together with the chairperson and environmental experts in the delegation. The Environmental Assessment Delegation makes decisions for activities in Dalarna and Gävleborg counties and consists of a chairperson and environmental experts. This position is a reinforcement of resources for environmental assessment.

We are a unit of a total of 14 people, where half of the unit works with water activities and water protection areas, and the other half with environmental assessment. The unit for environmental assessment and water activities is one of four units in the Department of Environmental and Community Planning. The other units work with the Water Framework Directive, restoration, environmental monitoring of water, environmental supervision, and remediation of contaminated areas, as well as cultural heritage and community planning.

The work with environmental assessment involves preparing assessment matters together with the chairperson and environmental experts in the delegation. The Environmental Assessment Delegation makes decisions for activities in Dalarna and Gävleborg counties and consists of a chairperson and environmental experts.

You will assess permissibility issues and environmental impact, as well as the need for conditions for an activity. You will also participate in consultations prior to applications in matters in Dalarna.

The Environmental Assessment Delegation assesses matters within many different industries. Your background and interests may partially guide which industries you will prepare matters for. You will have the support of environmental experts and the chairpersons in the Environmental Assessment Delegation, who are lawyers. You will have good opportunities for professional development.

Assignments from the government and other authorities vary over time, so other tasks within the County Administrative Board may become relevant, such as work in our crisis management team.

If we can recruit two people to the unit, the position may include other tasks occurring within the unit.

Qualifications

University degree with a focus on the environmental field or experience deemed equivalent by the employer. You should have several years of experience working with assessments or supervision according to the Environmental Code at an authority or equivalent experience from private operations. A valid driver's license (B) is required.

Meritorious

It is an advantage if you have experience working with assessments according to Chapter 9 of the Environmental Code.

Personal qualities

You are proactive and can prioritize and take responsibility for your work independently. You are meticulous and responsible and can deliver high-quality work within given deadlines. You need to have good collaboration skills and enjoy working in a structured manner while being open and flexible to find new solutions.

Conditions

The position is a permanent full-time employment located in Falun. Start date by agreement; we apply a six-month probationary period and individual salary setting.

There is an opportunity to perform approximately 49.9% of the work remotely. We have the benefit of one hour per week for wellness activities and can also apply for wellness reimbursement.
