Job Description

In the role of Environmental and Health Protection Inspector in a small municipality like Gagnef, you are offered a very varied job with a high degree of independence.

Within the framework of a legally secure and efficient processing, you have great freedom to organize your work together with your closest colleagues. The work is outward-facing and involves many contacts with the public, business operators, and various authorities.

In Gagnef Municipality, you are close to colleagues with many different professions. You will belong to the Community Building Department, a group of 14 people responsible for a broad operation that includes environmental and health protection, building permits and supervision, food control, physical planning, land and development issues, traffic and road infrastructure, as well as geodata and nature conservation. Our work aims to create a long-term sustainable and attractive municipality for residents and businesses by ensuring that laws and regulations are followed and developing our physical environment.

We work closely with residents, businesses, and other authorities to create good conditions for a healthy and sustainable living environment. We drive both strategic development projects and carry out ongoing supervision to ensure that society develops in a responsible and sustainable way.

The operational responsibility lies with the Environmental and Building Committee as the authority committee.

Job Duties

As an Environmental and Health Protection Inspector, you work broadly within the framework of the Environmental Code and other environmental and health protection legislation. In addition to planned supervision, event-driven supervision as well as notification and permit matters may become relevant. Decision-making mainly occurs by delegation, but some matters are presented to the Environmental and Building Committee.

Qualifications

You have a relevant university education in the environmental field or education that the employer deems equivalent. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of the Environmental Code, training in the environmental and health protection area, and experience in regulatory enforcement and supervision work.

To succeed in the role, you take personal responsibility for your work, have good judgment, and are persistent in achieving results. It is also essential that you have good collaboration skills and are clear. Good knowledge of Swedish and a B driver's license are required.

Conditions

Permanent position, 100% with start date by agreement. Possibility for remote work exists. Interviews may be conducted continuously during the advertising period.
