Social Worker with Police in Eskilstuna
Do you have experience in public authority operations and collaboration? We are looking for someone who wants to work in an exciting new assignment in Eskilstuna – “social worker with police”.
In this role, you will be part of the Child and Family Investigation Unit, Unit 2. We handle cases within individual and family care (IFO) targeting children and youth (0-20 years). One of our teams works with young criminals. The unit also includes the placement team, which works with matching all external care within the administration and together with Unit 1 forms two workgroups with joy and a desire for development. We also have two SIG coordinators who work with social intervention groups.
In recent years, the municipality of Eskilstuna has faced a serious situation with multiple shootings and gang-related activities. Social services and police are being tested, and we need to deepen our collaboration to find new ways to help each other in the work of preventing deadly violence. Together, based on the knowledge of our organizations, we will find Eskilstuna's approach to these individuals.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position, you will have the opportunity to participate in an assignment aimed at preventing an escalation of crime among children and youth. Since this is a new role, it is important that you feel secure in your position and in the legislation while being comfortable with developing new working methods.
You will collaborate with various authorities and organizations in the municipality and become the spider in the web of cooperation between social services and police. Through daily, practical, and close cooperation, working methods will be found that create conditions to prevent deadly violence and to react early and prevent escalation among children and youth. Therefore, you will be placed at the police station a few days a week.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another equivalent education, such as a behavioral science degree with additional training that meets the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare's eligibility requirements for social workers (basic level social work, advanced level social work, social law, administrative law, psychology). You have several years of experience in public authority operations, SoL, LVU for children, and experience working with the target group of children, youth, and young adults. You have experience coordinating and meeting people in crisis. We see it as a positive if you have knowledge of additional languages. Due to travel in the position, a driver's license (B) is required.

You have a structured and analytical ability and are used to making decisions based on laws and regulations.
