School Assistant at Högalids Folk High School

We are now looking for a school assistant who will play an important role in supporting the school's management and the administration's economists.

In this role, you will have a central function in the school's administration and work with a variety of tasks. You will work closely with the management to perform reporting in finance, personnel administration, and school operations. This includes administering schedules, reporting courses and participants, and handling issues related to regulatory activities, such as authorizations, assessments, and certificates.

Some of your tasks will also include preparing documentation for invoices and financial decisions, as well as being responsible for the staffing of the office together with our other school assistant. You will also be involved in archive management and participate in the development work for the school's premises and conference planning, together with the team responsible for administration, cleaning, and maintenance.

About You

You have completed a three-year upper secondary education or equivalent experience deemed relevant by the employer. You have documented experience in administrative tasks, preferably in financial administration and/or as a scheduler within the school. Experience working with systems such as Schoolsoft, Arx, Raindance, Qlikview, and Heroma is advantageous. To succeed in this role, we also see that you are accustomed to meeting and communicating with various types of target groups.

As a person, you are structured, have a high sense of service, and find it easy to collaborate with both colleagues and course participants. You have the ability to prioritize, organize, and plan your work effectively. The tasks require high flexibility, and you need to be both meticulous and quality-conscious with a good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. Good computer skills are necessary for the position.

You will work in a developing and inspiring folk high school environment located just west of Kalmar in a picturesque setting. Högalids Folk High School offers a range of general courses, profile courses, and vocational training. Additionally, we have senior courses and conference activities. We have about 45 employees and around 150 participants in total.

The folk high schools in the Kalmar County region work to strengthen democracy, reduce educational gaps, promote culture and public health, and contribute to integration and sustainable development. Högalids Folk High School particularly focuses on diversity, music, healthy and sustainable lifestyles, and reducing inequality. The operations are characterized by collaboration, inclusion, and engagement through various theme days, project groups, and initiatives related to Agenda 2030. The school's core values – impressions, expressions, and impacts – reflect the ambition to inspire, give voice to participants, and equip them for further studies and community engagement.

In the education administration area, there are five base units, library development, and the four folk high schools: Gamleby Folk High School, Högalids Folk High School, Vimmerby Folk High School, and Öland Folk High School. The folk high schools offer a wide range of educational programs that contribute to raising the educational level in the region. Library development initiates, leads, and coordinates the joint development work within the library sector in the region. We are part of the regional development administration that works together on growth and development issues in Kalmar County.
