In Region Gotland, you can develop and grow, both as an individual and together with others. When you work with us, you contribute to making Gotland an even better place for people in all walks of life. We make each other better.

Stroke Unit

We are now looking for nurses to work night shifts in the stroke unit C3.

We would like you to have an interest in working in rotation in some form to gain insight into daytime work practices and to more easily participate in development work on the unit.

We are a care unit with ten regular care places and one overflow place. The focus is on acute stroke care and rehabilitation after stroke. In addition, we care for patients with neurological diseases and injuries.

At night, the stroke unit is staffed together with the neighboring medical unit, totaling 25 care places and three overflow places on the C3 level. The night shift is staffed by three care teams with a mix of medical and stroke patients. Each care team consists of one nurse and one nursing assistant.

As a nurse, you are expected to work and be involved in close care together with the nursing assistant in the care team, and you contribute to supporting other care teams as needed. Collaboration and communication between care teams are important prerequisites for ensuring that all patients receive good and safe care. Your nursing assistant colleagues at night have high medical competence and good knowledge of the unit's routines and working methods.

We are an engaged workgroup that works together with a focus on person-centered care and a rehabilitative approach, as well as a strong desire to develop.

We are now looking for you, an engaged and confident nurse with a desire to develop together with us. Based on interest and needs, you will be assigned an area of responsibility where you will have increased responsibility and opportunities to follow up and develop the operations.

Your Responsibilities

Based on evidence and proven experience, you will plan, perform, and evaluate patient care and be a key person in your role at night. You will have an important leadership function and work closely with the nursing assistant and, if necessary, other colleagues on the unit.

As a night nurse, you are expected to complete admissions and begin planning for care, as well as initiate discharge planning when applicable.

Your night duties include checking medication carts, restocking, organizing, and cleaning medication carts as needed before the day shift, as well as organizing and maintaining hygiene routines in the medication room.

Since we have short overlap times between evening/night and night/day shifts, it is part of your duties to be able to take and give reports according to SBAR.

Who Are You?

You are a licensed nurse, preferably with a few years of experience. We would like you to have an interest in working with stroke and other neurological diseases, and experience in stroke, brain injury rehabilitation, and neurology is a plus.

You are confident, independent, and responsible. You want to develop in your professional role and actively participate in the development of the operations. You appreciate being part of a small team and can work both independently and as part of a team. The work requires your ability to plan and prioritize your tasks even in situations where you need to adapt quickly. You communicate well and are clear in both your communication and your approach. You are solution-focused and flexible in your disposition.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Before a hiring decision is made, a background check will be conducted through an extract from the criminal record.

Selection will take place continuously during the application period.
