We are looking for a dedicated and service-oriented operations technician for our business area Electricity Networks at Karlstad Energy!

Karlstad Energy works for a sustainable and future-proof energy system where we ensure an accessible electricity network for Karlstad.

As part of the Electricity Networks business area, you contribute to a safe and efficient operation – a key role in the city's green transition.

At our production unit, modern technology is combined with extensive experience to meet customer needs. Here, you will become part of a close-knit team where collaboration and service are in focus. Together, we create a reliable and climate-smart energy supply for Karlstad.

The production unit consists of a close-knit team of 27 dedicated colleagues who all contribute with their expertise and commitment. You will work in a smaller group with five other operations technicians where collaboration, problem-solving, and service are central values.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of tasks that directly contribute to ensuring a safe and efficient electricity supply for the residents of Karlstad. Your workday will be varied and include everything from preventive maintenance to troubleshooting and fault correction within our extensive distribution network, which ranges from 0.4 kV, 10 kV, and up to 130 kV.

You will be a key player in connection work and responsible for commissioning substations, installing and commissioning short-circuit indicators and RTUs. By using our measurement bus for troubleshooting in the cable network, you will have the opportunity to work with the latest technology in the field.

We place a high value on safety and see it as a natural and central part of everything we do. In the long run, you may become part of our emergency organization, where your contribution will be crucial for maintaining high availability in the electricity network, around the clock.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an electrical engineering education at the high school level, a vocational training for distribution electricians, or equivalent. If you are currently working as a distribution electrician, this position would be a perfect fit for you. To succeed in this role, you need at least 3 years of experience in similar tasks and a good technical understanding. It is also important that you are computer literate and proficient in the Office suite.

Experience in maintaining electricity distribution and high-voltage facilities is a significant asset, as well as knowledge in cable testing, cable splicing for medium voltage, circuit diagram reading, and completed training in ESA and relevant EBR. Although these skills are advantageous, your willingness to learn and develop with us is crucial.

As an operations technician at Karlstad Energy, you are expected to take great responsibility for your work and show both commitment and initiative. You have good social skills and can create and maintain good relationships both within the team and with external contacts. The role requires you to be flexible, methodical, and able to handle situations where many things happen simultaneously, without compromising accuracy.

Since we work in an environment where high service and quality are crucial, we are looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative role and sees teamwork as a key to success. A valid driver's license (B) is a requirement for the position, and if you also have a BE license, it is an advantage. Experience working with relay protection is also a significant plus.

A six-month probationary period may apply.
