Bungemuseet AB is looking for summer staff!

Bungemuseet is an open-air museum located in Bunge on northern Gotland. The museum covers approximately 7 hectares and features around eighty relocated buildings from all over Gotland, including farms from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries, a fishing village, mills, and sawmills. There is also a school museum. The popular children's barn attracts many families. The museum is open from May to September, with daily tours during the peak season.

We are looking for someone interested in working publicly in a cultural-historical environment. You will be part of the daily operations and one of the museum's faces to the public. The tasks are varied and include assisting at the entrance and shop with sales and good hospitality, conducting tours, and bringing the environments to life. Light cleaning is included, as well as some outdoor work and possibly some animal care. As an employee at Bungemuseet, you need to be responsible and ready to take your own initiatives. Many of the tasks require independence, creativity, and the ability to see what needs to be done. Public staff will wear historical costumes, which are available to borrow.

We are looking for someone who

• has knowledge of and interest in conveying Gotland's history and cultural heritage.

• has some form of education from university/college, or several years of experience in the fields of ethnology, history, or pedagogy.

• is comfortable and enjoys speaking in front of people.

• likes to meet people of all ages.

• has an interest in historical reenactment.

Meritorious

• Experience with cash handling, sales, and customer service.

• Experience in the museum sector, educational work, and/or experience in conveying knowledge to children and adults.

• Good knowledge of English and preferably German.

Employment

Hourly employment, approximately 90% service level, between June 23 and August 17. The position is scheduled, including weekends. We would also like you to be able to work weekends during the pre- and post-season. The museum opens on the weekend of May 10-11 and closes on September 28.

Salary

Hourly wage according to collective agreement.
