The Patient Committee's Office

Do you want to contribute to increased quality and patient safety in healthcare in Region Gotland? Do you find it exciting to work with ensuring that patients' experiences and opinions are taken into account?

The Patient Committee's Office is tasked with supporting and assisting patients and their relatives in voicing complaints or opinions about healthcare or dental care.

We also regularly follow up on statistics and conduct analyses of complaints and opinions. These are reported to elected representatives and healthcare providers. All with the aim of contributing to quality development in care, enhanced patient safety, and adapting care to patients' needs and circumstances. The Patient Committee's Office is also responsible for recruiting and appointing support persons for patients who are subjected to involuntary care in psychiatry.

The Patient Committee's Office consists of two employees and is part of the regional administration in the regional council management. The regional administration is also responsible for the guardianship committee's office, the election committee's office, budget and debt counseling, legal affairs, and city secretariat. The unit has a total of 17 employees.

Your Responsibilities

As an investigator/case officer, you will handle individual patient cases and have contact with patients, relatives, staff, and managers from various operations and authorities. You create trust and provide good service to patients and relatives as well as to operations. The work primarily consists of contact via phone and digital means but also includes personal meetings. You will contribute to analyses and reports of incoming opinions and complaints. Your work will include planning and conducting information efforts for smaller and larger groups. In addition, you will appoint support persons for patients who are cared for involuntarily.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone with a university degree in healthcare or a behavioral science degree. You have work experience in the healthcare field.

You have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing. Since the position involves many social contacts, a very good communicative ability is also required. Additionally, it is a requirement for the position that you are accustomed to working on a computer and have a good ability to navigate various systems and programs. If you have previous work experience in healthcare as well as quality and patient safety work, we see this as advantageous. Experience in an administrative position and in a politically governed organization is also meritorious for the position.

As a person, you are service-oriented and act with confidence in your professional role, and you are genuinely interested in helping people. You enjoy working both independently and collaboratively with others. Furthermore, you are used to taking responsibility and have the ability to structure and organize your work. To meet those who contact the Patient Committee, we want you to have good judgment, self-awareness, and be stable and secure in yourself. You are factual and show respect and sensitivity to others' opinions and cultural differences and can maintain quality and productivity. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and characteristics.

About the Regional Council Administration

As part of Region Gotland, the regional council administration is responsible for corporate governance, strategic planning, and case preparation. We also work with regional development and cultural and leisure activities. We serve as internal support to the region's other administrations. Together, we care about quality and efficiency for those we serve. Through our responsibility for emergency services in Gotland, we are also an important part of citizens' safety and security.
