Engaged and Creative Team Leader Wanted for the Service Unit

The Technical Division consists of five operational areas: Street/Park/Harbor, Nyköping Water, Waste Management, Municipal Properties, and Meal Services. These are supported by a project unit, an economic unit, and an administrative staff. The division has an annual turnover of approximately 1.5 billion SEK, active investments of about 2 billion SEK, and employs over 400 permanent staff members. The division's clients include the Municipal Executive Board, the Environmental and Community Planning Committee, and the Culture and Leisure Committee.

The Service Unit is the latest addition to the Technical Division, focusing on sustainability, service, and the development of individuals in labor market initiatives. The unit is responsible for the reuse of furniture, bicycle service, internal service, and certain maintenance tasks primarily within park management. The goal is to advance the municipality's sustainability efforts, achieving ecological, social, and economic sustainable community development in accordance with Agenda 2030.

The Service Unit is now looking for an engaged and creative team leader who wants to help lead and develop the municipality's operations for reuse and sustainable management of furniture, bicycles, and other resources, while also creating opportunities for participants in the program to grow and gain a competitive edge in the job market.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to make a difference for both people and the environment while utilizing your creative abilities?

As the team leader for the Service Unit, you will be responsible for leading and developing the municipality's operations for reuse and sustainable management of furniture, bicycles, and other resources. In this role, you will use your design sense and display skills to give new life to reused materials while also leading and contributing to increasing the competencies of individuals who are currently distanced from the regular job market.

The Service Unit was established at the turn of the year and consists of the operations Return, Bicycle Support, Green Jobs, and Internal Service. The unit is new, but the operations have existed for a long time, and you will be part of a team consisting of two other team leaders and an internal service employee.

As a team leader, you will, together with the other team leaders, be responsible for leading and coordinating the operations that handle the collection, repair, remodeling, upcycling, and distribution of the municipality's furniture and bicycles. An important part of the role is to use your aesthetic eye to create appealing and functional solutions that contribute to increasing interest in reuse internally within the municipality.

At the same time, you will lead a work group consisting of individuals who are distanced from the regular job market, where your leadership and pedagogical skills are crucial for creating a safe and developing work environment.

You will also be involved in the strategic work to develop the operations together with other operational areas within the unit.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who apply should have:

• Documented experience in leadership and guidance of individuals distanced from the regular job market.
• A business-oriented mindset to develop the operations and create value for the municipality.
• A clear and trust-based leadership style to support the work group in their daily tasks, helping them develop their competencies.
• Basic computer skills.
• High school education.
• Driver's license B.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience in leadership and guidance within reuse, design, repair, and craftsmanship.
• Experience in decoration work, display, or visual communication.
• Experience in operational development within sustainability or reuse.
• Experience in furniture and/or bicycle repair and creative design.
• Business experience in reuse production.
• Knowledge of processes for handling different fractions (e.g., textiles, electronics, wood).
• Forklift license.
