About Us

The position of Accountant is centrally located within the Economy and Development Unit, which is part of the Executive Staff. The unit's responsibilities include, in addition to economy and procurement, an overarching responsibility for the municipality's strategic operational development, safety and public health, IT and digitalization, as well as crisis preparedness coordination. The unit currently consists of 14 employees and reports directly to the Municipal Executive Board Administration.

Your Role

Your main tasks will consist of providing support to our operations, primarily the Support and Care Operations. You will work on preparing budget materials, conducting ongoing follow-ups and forecasts, and generating materials for interim and annual financial statements for the units you support. You will act as a support to managers regarding issues related to economic analysis and development, and you are expected to be able to lead presentations. The work also includes some accounting tasks and occasional routines at a central economic office. The role involves largely providing service to the municipality's operations, and you will actively work to support accountants and managers in their assignments.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have an academic degree or equivalent, relevant education in economics and accounting. You have a few years of work experience in an accountant role within accounting. Additionally, you have a desire to broaden your knowledge.

Merits

It is an advantage if you have experience of economic work in a politically governed organization, preferably within municipal operations.

Personal Qualities

You are innovative, analytical, and eager to drive development work. You are also pedagogical and find it easy to maintain good dialogue, as well as having a good ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with accountants, managers, and non-accountants. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work in an effective manner, and show good judgment in actions and decisions. We would appreciate it if you had a strong interest in societal issues and want to be part of influencing change.

Other Information:
