Flight Technical Unit 24, Flight Systems Section (FTE/FSS)

The Flight Systems Section (FSS) is responsible for Continuing Airworthiness Management (CAM), corresponding to the civilian Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO). The FSS is also responsible for the corresponding regulations within base equipment and aviation safety equipment. The Flight Systems Section includes operational engineers, planning engineers, equipment planners, and administrators for technical accounting. The section is part of the air operator's technical organization, functionally led by a central technical manager. You will support all areas of the section over time and the overall mission of the helicopter squadron.

Main Responsibilities

As a Systems Engineer, you are responsible for decisions regarding the handling of non-conforming aviation safety equipment products, such as outstanding remarks or operational restrictions. You report equipment deviations, request changes in maintenance instructions, and produce other reports to maintain system airworthiness. You monitor, prepare, follow up, and inform the workshop and squadron about ongoing system airworthiness matters. You play a key role in the development of the section and the equipment system.

Tasks:

• Provide technical system support to the safety equipment workshop.
• Establish controls to maintain system airworthiness of the equipment system.
• Prepare documentation for the development of approved data.
• Act as a link between the air operator's technical organization and the safety equipment workshop.
• Manage deviations within the equipment system.
• Provide training support when needed.
• Deploy with the unit during operations and exercises.

Note: As an employee of the Swedish Armed Forces, you are subject to physical requirements. Three hours per work week must be dedicated to physical training.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Strong ability to report, document, and conduct investigations and assessments in writing.
• Relevant upper secondary education.
• Good proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Personal Attributes

We prefer candidates who are structured, analytical, and collaborative. You should have the ability to independently drive issues within the work area, as well as strong skills in reporting, documenting, and conducting investigations and assessments regarding aviation safety equipment. Personal attributes will be heavily weighted during the selection process.

Merits

• Current and relevant experience with aviation safety equipment.
• Experience working with military (or civilian) continuing airworthiness management or system airworthiness.
• Post-secondary relevant technical education.
• Experience with operational monitoring systems.
• Good computer skills.
• Valid B-class driver's license.

Other Information

Employment Type: Permanent. The Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not already employed by the agency.

Work Hours: Full-time.

Location: Linköping, Malmslätt. Business travel may occur, both nationally and internationally.

Employment Status: Civilian employment.

Start Date: 2026-11-01 or as agreed.
