RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of Environmental and Health Protection Inspector includes, among other things, supervision and case processing according to the Environmental Code within the area of environmental protection, matters concerning contaminated land, sewage, industries, as well as participation in societal planning. The duties involve exercising public authority, and you will have contact with other authorities, business operators, and private individuals. The tasks involve planning and conducting visits as well as writing decisions.

We are a small unit, and there are good opportunities to shape the tasks according to knowledge and preferences. The areas within the environmental department are partly divided between the case handlers, but we collaborate within the group and value each other highly. We support each other in various issues, collaborate, and have a non-hierarchical approach within the administration. Therefore, it is important that you are flexible and adaptable.

QUALIFICATIONS

The Community Planning Administration is looking for a positive and service-oriented Environmental and Health Protection Inspector to join our team. You have a university education as an Environmental and Health Protection Inspector or other relevant education. It is meritorious if you have experience of similar tasks and exercising public authority. You have good knowledge of the Environmental Code and have good ability to read and interpret legal texts and judgments. You can work both independently and in a group. As a person, you are responsible, solution-oriented, and proactive with good collaboration and service skills. The work requires that you are structured and flexible, so you can organize and prioritize work in an effective way.

Good treatment is important in this position, which is why it is important that you can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, in a pedagogical manner. You find it easy to meet people and have the ability to create trust. At the same time, you must be confident in being able to set clear demands when justified.

You are computer literate and enjoy working with people. You are proficient in the Office package, especially Word and Excel, and you learn to handle new computer programs used within the administration easily. It is meritorious if you have knowledge of the case management system Solarplexus.

Category B driver's license is required.
