Description
The Environmental and Health Protection Office develops society and has a broad mandate within areas such as strategic planning, permits, and supervision. The Environmental and Health Protection Administration is a local supervisory authority for activities covered by the Environmental Code, the Food Act, and several other laws. Approximately 50 employees work at the Environmental and Health Protection Administration, divided into four units: environmental protection, health protection, food, and administration. There are good opportunities for development within the office and other administrations. We work in teams and support each other during temporary work peaks.
Responsibilities
We are looking for an inspector to work with the case processing of contaminated areas. The work includes reviewing and preparing background material, informing, writing decisions, following up on requirements, measures, and decisions, among other tasks. Supervision of landfills and other activities with control programs is included. The position also involves handling remittals from various authorities or units within the municipality. Collaboration takes place with other supervisory authorities, for example, within the Metropolitan Network.
Qualifications
In the authority role, you as a person should have the ability to make objective and factual assessments, set clear requirements, and make decisions. The authority role also demands a pronounced sense of integrity.
You should have good social competence that contributes to creating mutual trust and respect in meetings with business operators, colleagues, and citizens. You are creative, engaged, and flexible, and have good planning and prioritization skills. You need to have good communicative skills in both speech and writing in Swedish, be meticulous, and well aware of goals and quality standards. The work is independent with significant personal responsibility, while you must also be good at collaborating. It is important that you are both service-oriented and enjoy meeting new people. The work requires a structured approach and good judgment.
A requirement is to hold a higher education or university degree in environmental protection or another relevant field.
A valid Category B driver's license is required for the position.

For this position, it is meritorious to have previously worked with contaminated areas and to have good knowledge of the Environmental Code.
