In this role, you will have a central and significant position in a socially important operation. You contribute to creating a safe, well-functioning, and professional environment for both employees and visitors at the court. Responsibilities

As a caretaker at Södertörn District Court, you play a key role in ensuring that operations run smoothly in daily work. You are responsible for ensuring that the premises are in good working order and that employees have the right conditions to perform their duties.

You work independently in the role of caretaker and report to the Service Manager. The job involves significant personal responsibility and a varied daily routine where you handle both planned tasks and urgent needs that arise in the operation. The role is largely practical and can occasionally be physically demanding.

As a caretaker, your responsibilities include among other things:

  • Mail and Goods Handling
    Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail, receive deliveries, and handle outgoing shipments and packages.
  • Premises Supervision and Equipment
    Ensure that the premises are in order and equipped according to the operation's needs, for example before meetings and hearings.
  • Service to the Operation
    Deliver consumables, move and distribute furniture, and assist departments with practical service in everyday life.
  • Internal Moves and Rearrangements
    Plan and carry out workplace moves, rearrange furniture, and assemble furniture as needed.
  • Repairs and Troubleshooting
    Perform simple repairs and troubleshooting, such as fixing defects in premises or equipment.
  • Waste and Recycling Management
    Ensure that waste and recycling are handled according to current procedures.
  • Ongoing Maintenance
    For example, changing light bulbs and other minor measures to maintain a functional work environment.
  • Administrative Handling in Systems
    Handle fault reports, orders, and incoming questions via the court's case management system.
  • Coordination with External Actors
    Maintain ongoing contact with property managers, technicians, and suppliers, and order and follow up on various services.

Working hours are scheduled between 07:30 – 16:00 with some possibility for flexibility if the operation allows.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

  • At least three years of recent and satisfactory experience working as a caretaker
  • Experience in working with internal service and is accustomed to delivering high-quality service
  • Broad basic technical competence (carpentry, simple plumbing, and electricity, etc.)
  • Ability to work physically
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish
  • Computer literacy

Merits

  • Experience from working as a caretaker at a court or another authority that the employer deems relevant
  • Experience handling fault reports and orders in system tools

In the role of caretaker, you work to ensure a well-functioning work and visitor environment. You have good collaboration and communication skills as the work involves daily meetings with employees and visitors. Even in situations with high tempo or unexpected challenges, you remain calm, prioritize, and work solution-oriented to meet the operation's needs. At the same time, you work independently by noticing needs, taking initiative, and driving tasks to completion with good quality.

Södertörn District Court is an open, modern, and development-oriented workplace with dedicated employees. We are one of the country's largest district courts, and here work over 250 employees with different competencies, each of whom is significant for maintaining high quality in all respects. The court has six judicial divisions and one administrative division. In 2025, the court received 22,993 cases and matters. The court also has public areas where our over 800,000 visitors annually stay. The premises are distributed over 13,900 square meters.
