Job Responsibilities
We are opening a new housing facility for children and youth and are now looking for support assistants who want to be involved from the very beginning. Here, you will help build the operations together with your colleagues. You will create routines, develop working methods, and build a team where collaboration, security, and quality are in focus. We are looking for you who want to work with children and youth and make a difference in their daily lives.
As a support assistant, you provide individually adapted support based on each young person's needs. The goal is to provide the prerequisites for an independent, meaningful, and developmental life. An important part of the job is to create a calm, secure, and predictable daily routine.
Communication is a key part of the work. We use clear pedagogy and low-affective handling (LAB) to create structure, security, and understanding. This means you treat the young people calmly and respectfully, take responsibility for the situation, and together with colleagues find solutions that work in the long term.
We work to ensure that every young person is involved and can influence their daily life based on their prerequisites. The support can involve leisure activities, social interaction, communication, or cognitive support – always tailored to the individual's needs. Do you want to help create a future for another person with a complex background? We encourage you to apply and join our team! Here you have the opportunity to develop, start something new, participate in a forward-driving work group, and create opportunities for success.
The work involves shifts during the day, evening, weekends, and overnight on-call duties according to a schedule.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a support assistant education, the Child and Youth Program with a focus on social work or pedagogical work, or the Care and Nursing Program with specialization in functional impairment. Alternatively, other education that the employer deems equivalent, such as a specialization in the disability area with at least 200 YH credits or higher education in relevant areas.
It is a requirement that you, as an applicant, have at least two years of experience working with individuals with neuropsychiatric disabilities. You also need at least two years of experience working with LAB (low-affective handling), self-harm behavior, and aggressive behavior.
We would appreciate it if you have an interest in training, physical activity, and movement, and that you are creative in how you use this to create a meaningful and active daily life for the young people.
As a person, you are secure, stable, and have the ability to handle situations that may arise at work. You take responsibility for both the operations, the young people living in the facility, and the practical tasks included in the assignment. At the same time, you are sensitive to the individual's needs and can adapt your working methods based on the situation and the person. You contribute to good collaboration with your colleagues and have a professional and respectful attitude towards both young people, colleagues, and others you meet in your work.
We also expect you to have very good knowledge of social documentation and a valid Category B driver's license (manual). You must have good verbal and written skills in Swedish.
