About the Department

We are a surgical inpatient ward that cares for patients before and after surgery. We have a high patient turnover, and here you will find stimulating and varied work where the pace can be both high and low, where no day is like another. We provide surgical care following colorectal surgery, upper gastrointestinal surgery, urology, vascular surgery, and ENT (ear, nose, and throat). A large part of our operations involves planned surgery, but we also provide 24/7 intake from the emergency department and other clinics to our urology, vascular, and ENT sections. The ward has 24 beds. As a nursing assistant here, you play a vital role in ensuring the patient's basic care needs are met. As an employee within the surgical department, you have great opportunities to develop your skills.

We are now looking for a nursing assistant for Surgical Ward 15 for a 12-month full-time temporary position. Working hours are scheduled during days/evenings, and night shifts may occur in consultation with the unit manager. Weekend work is 2 out of 5 weekends. Start date is by agreement.

Responsibilities

Personal suitability is highly valued, and your most important asset is your nursing competence, as well as your commitment to the department's patients and working forward in a positive spirit. You work in a team with nurses and doctors, where you together create the best conditions for the patient's recovery. Your tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Preoperative preparations
• Postoperative checks
• Wound, stoma, and catheter care.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who

• Is trained as a nursing assistant
• Has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

It is an advantage if you

• Have work experience in somatic care and/or surgical experience
