We are now looking for another Budget and Debt Advisor in Höganäs Municipality.

The position of Budget and Debt Advisor is located at the Economy and Integration Unit within the Social Services Department in Höganäs Municipality. You will become part of a team consisting of 12 dedicated colleagues: budget and debt advisors, social secretaries within economic assistance, social secretaries within deceased estates, integration counselors, and the unit manager. We work together with great commitment and a focus on quality, development, and collaboration.

As a Budget and Debt Advisor, you work closely with people who have, for various reasons, fallen into financial difficulties and need support to get their finances in order. In this role, you provide guidance on personal economics and create structure and overview together with the individual regarding their financial situation, guiding them towards long-term sustainable solutions.

Together with the individual, you map out income, expenses, assets, and debts, draw up budgets and payment plans, and provide guidance and support throughout the entire debt adjustment process. The work is characterized by close collaboration with social secretaries, landlords, the Swedish Enforcement Authority (Kronofogden), other authorities, creditors, as well as internal and external partners.

An important part of the assignment is also the preventive work, which may include giving lectures, conducting educational initiatives, and other targeted activities for different target groups. Höganäs Municipality is at the forefront of work on suicide prevention related to over-indebtedness, where early detection, collaboration, and support measures are important parts for reducing the risk of mental health issues among people with severe financial problems, thus forming a crucial part of the work.

The position also includes eviction prevention work, where you work to support individuals and families at risk of losing their housing. Through close collaboration with landlords, the Swedish Enforcement Authority, social services, and other relevant actors, you work to find solutions that enable continued residence and prevent homelessness. You thereby become an important part of the municipality's work for social sustainability and security for our residents.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have relevant education or equivalent experience, for example as a social worker, economist, or behavioral scientist, as well as knowledge of relevant legislation.

You have good communication skills and express yourself clearly and structured, both verbally and in writing. You are professional, receptive, and treat others with respect. Furthermore, you have a good ability to work independently in your cases, while also enjoying collaborating in a team and contributing to shared responsibility. As a person, you are engaged and have a solution-focused approach. You are proactive and always stay one step ahead.

Great importance is attached to personal suitability, and a background check is conducted prior to employment.

It is also an advantage if you have a driver's license; access to a company car is available.
