Your Role

As an assistant nurse at Höjden, Åsgården, you will provide individually adapted care, support, and services to our residents based on a rehabilitative and person-centered approach. Your work aims to create security, participation, and a meaningful daily life for each individual.

The role includes personal care, such as assistance with hygiene and dressing, as well as service tasks like cleaning, laundry, and support during meals. You plan and conduct social and physical activities and perform delegated health and medical tasks, such as medication management. Documentation and work based on implementation plans are a natural part of the daily routine.

You work closely with your colleagues and collaborate with nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and unit managers to ensure good and secure care. The role requires both good teamwork skills and the ability to work independently. If needed, you are also expected to take responsibility for leading and distributing daily work within the team.

The position involves scheduled working hours, including days, evenings, and weekends. Work at other units may occur based on operational needs.

About the Workplace

Åsgården is a care and support residence with a total of 57 beds distributed across three units for people with dementia. The operation also includes a short-term residence with 12 beds. The different units collaborate closely, creating good conditions for both secure and high-quality care as well as a positive and supportive work environment.

We have 24/7 staffing. A nurse is on-site during weekdays during the day, and municipal nurses are available at other times. Our work is based on "Individual Needs in Focus" (IBIC), where participation, self-determination, and individual needs are the foundation of the services we offer.

At our facility, the person-centered approach is in focus. Through security, recognition, and meaningful activities, we create a daily life that promotes quality of life for the residents. You will become part of a dedicated team where assistant nurses, nurses, rehabilitation staff, coordinators, and managers work together with a common goal – to provide each individual with the best possible support, care, and well-being.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a trained assistant nurse with a vocational upper secondary education or equivalent. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as basic computer skills, as documentation and communication are an important part of the job.

Experience from working in elderly care, especially within dementia care, is meritorious. Experience with delegated health and medical tasks and work with BPSD (Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia) is also considered an advantage.

To thrive and succeed in the role, you need to be able to work both independently and collaboratively. You are flexible and have the ability to adapt your working methods based on the needs of the operation and the residents. We place great emphasis on personal qualities and are looking for someone who is secure, mature, and stable in their professional role. You have good teamwork skills, a professional attitude, and a strong sense of service.

As a person, you are calm, empathetic, and respectful in your interactions with others. You are attentive to the individual's needs and understand that people have different conditions and needs for support. You have the ability to build trusting relationships and can pedagogically contribute to security and participation for the residents.

Furthermore, you are responsible, meticulous, and quality-conscious. You work in a structured manner, have the ability to see the big picture in different situations, and can make well-founded decisions even when conditions change. You actively contribute to the development of the operation and share our ambition to offer high-quality care with the individual person in focus.
