Resident Physician (ST) in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP) in Gävle

BUP (Child and Adolescent Psychiatry) in Gävle is located on Södertull and consists of two clinics handling assessments/investigations and treatments respectively. We see approximately 2,500 children and young people annually, aged between 6 and 18. This autumn, we will jointly prepare to create more integrated teams with greater continuity. Our staff includes nurses, doctors, social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, and special educators. The main operations run on weekdays from 8 AM to 5 PM. BUP also has locations in Bollnäs and Hudiksvall. In Gävle, there are the county's two inpatient beds for BUP, operated in collaboration with Adult Psychiatry. The county's eating disorder unit is also located in Gävle. BUP forms a Joint Authority (VO) with Child Rehabilitation and Family Health, and we share common care programs.

Job Description

As a Resident Physician (ST-läkare) with us, you will receive a broad and structured specialist training in child and adolescent psychiatry. You will begin your ST position with outpatient work where you meet children, young people, and their families. During the training, you will gradually develop in your professional role with the support of experienced colleagues, supervision, and a well-organized educational structure.

You will, among other things:

• Work with the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children and young people with psychiatric conditions.
• Follow up on treatments and gradually deepen your knowledge within child and adolescent psychiatry.
• Participate in in-depth psychiatric investigations.
• Develop a holistic perspective on the medical, psychological, and social factors affecting the health of children and young people.
• Complete side placements within areas such as inpatient care and eating disorder treatment.
• Spend a period participating in BUP's emergency hotline as part of the specialist training.

Qualifications

We are looking for a doctor who enjoys meeting all kinds of people, likes communication, and can still be stable and thoughtful. You should be comfortable moving between purely medical aspects and more social/human aspects.

As an ST Physician, you must:

• Hold a Swedish medical license.
• Be able to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.

A driver's license for a passenger car may be an advantage, but is not a requirement.
