Your Role

As a care assistant at Höjden, Åsgården, you work to provide individualized care, support, and services to our residents based on a rehabilitative and person-centered approach. Through your work, you contribute to creating safety, participation, and a meaningful daily life for each individual.

Duties include personal care, such as assistance with personal hygiene, dressing and undressing, and support in daily living. You also perform service tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and support during meals. An important part of the role is to motivate and encourage residents to engage in social and physical activities based on their individual needs, abilities, and preferences.

You document continuously according to current guidelines and work based on implementation plans to ensure safe, secure, and high-quality care. The work is carried out in close collaboration with colleagues and in cooperation with nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and the unit manager.

The role requires a professional attitude, good teamwork skills, and the ability to work independently. The position involves scheduled working hours with shifts during the day, evening, and weekends. Work at other units may occur depending on operational needs.

Description of the Workplace

Åsgården is a care and support residence with a total of 57 places distributed across three units for people with dementia. The operation also includes a short-term residence with 12 places. The different units collaborate closely, creating good conditions for both safe and high-quality care as well as a positive and supportive work environment.

We have 24/7 staffing. A nurse is on-site during weekdays daytime, and during other times, the municipality's nurses are available. Our work is based on "Individual Needs in Focus" (IBIC), where participation, self-determination, and individual needs are the foundation for the services we offer.

Here, the person-centered approach is in focus. Through safety, recognition, and meaningful activities, we create a daily life that promotes quality of life for the residents. You will become part of a dedicated team where nursing assistants, nurses, rehabilitation staff, coordinators, and managers work together with a common goal – to provide each individual with the best possible support, care, and well-being.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as a care assistant and have experience working in care and support, or other experience that the employer deems equivalent. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as basic computer skills, as documentation and digital communication are an important part of the job.

Experience working in elderly care, especially with people who have dementia, is meritorious. Experience with a person-centered approach and knowledge of BPSD (behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia) are also seen as advantageous.

To thrive and succeed in the role, you are secure, engaged, and responsible. You have the ability to work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues. You are calm, receptive, and have a respectful and professional attitude that builds trust and security for the residents and their relatives.

You understand that people have different needs, conditions, and ways of processing information. With a pedagogical and person-centered approach, you adapt your attitude and support based on the individual's needs.

You work in a structured and careful manner, take responsibility for your tasks, and actively contribute to the development and quality of the operation. You have a holistic perspective, understand your role in the operation, and act based on what is best for the residents and the operation as a whole.

Great importance will be placed on personal qualities.

We process applications on an ongoing basis, so do not wait to submit your application. Welcome to us at Åsgården!
