About the Internship
Are you studying sales, account management, business development, or marketing and looking to gain practical experience in research, new client acquisition, and partnerships?
We are looking for a driven Partner Acquisition Intern who wants to identify and contact relevant construction and contracting companies to establish long-term commercial collaborations.
This role is not primarily about traditional appointment setting or making high volumes of cold calls. The focus is on conducting thorough market research, finding the right companies, understanding their operations, and contacting relevant decision-makers with a clear and tailored offer.
You will start by mapping and processing construction companies in Gothenburg and the surrounding area. As the business expands, the work will also cover Stockholm and Malmö.
This role is particularly suitable for students at institutions such as IHM Business School, a University College (yrkeshögskola), or similar programs in sales, account management, business development, or digital marketing.
In addition to the internship, there is an opportunity for commission-based compensation for the collaborations and clients you help establish.
What you will do
- Map construction and contracting companies in selected geographical areas
- Identify companies that fit the business's requirements and partner profile
- Investigate the companies' services, geographical coverage, size, and customer segments
- Evaluate the companies' websites, reviews, reference projects, and digital presence
- Find relevant contacts, such as owners, CEOs, or sales managers
- Gather and quality-assure company information
- Contact potential partners via phone, email, and LinkedIn
- Adapt communication based on the company's services and geographical areas
- Present how a collaboration works and what value it can create
- Enter companies, contact details, and dialogues into the CRM
- Follow up with interested companies and drive the dialogue forward
- Participate in calls and meetings with potential partners
- Contribute to the creation of contact templates, sales presentations, and partner offers
- Gather market feedback and help develop the offer
- Eventually map and process companies in Stockholm and Malmö
Which companies you will work with
You will identify local and regional companies that offer services to homeowners, housing associations, and property owners.
This may include companies within:
- Drainage
- Earthworks
- Roofing
- Facade renovation
- Bathroom renovation
- Kitchen renovation
- Geothermal energy
- Window replacement
- Paving/Asphalt
- Decks and sunrooms
- House foundations and moisture protection
- Other construction, installation, and contracting services
The goal is not to contact as many companies as possible. The goal is to identify the right companies and initiate relevant dialogues with potential partners.
We are looking for you who
- Study sales, account management, business development, marketing, or similar
- Preferably study at IHM Business School, a University College, or equivalent
- Have a strong interest in sales, research, and business development
- Are good at finding and structuring information
- Can assess which companies are relevant to contact
- Are comfortable making initial contact with companies and decision-makers
- Communicate professionally via phone, email, and LinkedIn
- Are detail-oriented and work methodically
- Can work independently and take responsibility for your own areas of work
- Easily understand different companies' needs and business models
- Are persistent and follow up on initiated dialogues
- Enjoy an entrepreneurial environment where processes are continuously developed
Very good Swedish skills, both spoken and written, are required for the role.
Meritorious but not required
- Experience in B2B sales or corporate contact
- Experience in market research or prospecting
- Experience in building company and contact lists
- Experience with CRM systems
- Experience with LinkedIn and digital research
- Experience in partnerships or partner sales
- Knowledge of the construction, trade, or real estate industry
- Previous work in customer service, retail, or sales
- Driver's license and ability to participate in physical company visits
- An existing network among entrepreneurs in Gothenburg
Previous sales experience is not a requirement. The most important thing is that you can conduct thorough research, identify relevant companies, and communicate professionally with potential partners.
Compensation and Commission
The internship is usually carried out as part of your education.
In addition to the internship, there is an opportunity for commission on the companies and collaborations you help establish. The compensation is thus linked to the concrete results you create.
The exact commission model will be presented and agreed upon before the internship begins.
What you get
- Practical experience in market research and B2B sales
- Learn to identify and qualify potential partners
- Work with real companies and decision-makers
- Experience in partner acquisition and commercial collaborations
- Opportunity to receive commission on established collaborations
- Learn to use CRM and structure a partner pipeline
- Understanding of the construction and contracting market
- Significant personal responsibility and the opportunity to influence the way of working
- Opportunity to build a professional network among local entrepreneurs
- Concrete results to use in future job applications
- Relevant experience for future roles in sales, account management, partnerships, and business development
Why this internship matters
Successful sales start with identifying the right companies.
In this role, you will learn how to analyze a market, assess potential customers and partners, and create relevant business dialogues. You will work more qualitatively than in a traditional appointment-setting role and develop your ability to understand companies, identify business opportunities, and build relationships.
The work starts in Gothenburg and the surrounding area. The ambition is then to use the same model to establish collaborations in Stockholm and Malmö.
For the right person, there is an opportunity to take greater responsibility and continue developing together with the business after the internship period.
About Us
We are developing a digital business that connects consumers with relevant local construction and contracting companies.
We combine sales, market research, digital marketing, content, and technology to create new business opportunities for our partners.
Here, you will work close to the operations, take responsibility early on, and help build a partner network from scratch.
