Luleå Tourist Center is one of the city's most important meeting places for visitors and is often the first point of contact with Luleå. Here, we meet people from all over the world and help them discover everything from city life and culture to nature experiences and archipelago adventures.

We are located in Kulturens Hus in central Luleå, offering personal service, inspiration, and guidance for both short visits and longer stays. Visitors can pick up brochures, maps, and tips, as well as discover local branded products in our shop.

Every year, we meet over 30,000 visitors in person and also assist many via phone and email. We work with the entire Luleå destination, as well as Arctic Sweden, as the city is often a natural starting point for further travel in the region.

About the Position

We are currently seeking casual tourist information assistants who can primarily work weekends during the periods of January–May and September–December. There may also be opportunities for extra shifts during sick leave, holidays, and the summer season.

This job suits you if you enjoy meeting people, like providing service, and want to help create a warm welcome for Luleå's visitors.

Before your regular weekend shifts begin, you will receive an introduction and training together with permanent staff. The introduction is planned together with you and may sometimes take place on weekdays.

Responsibilities

As a tourist information assistant, you are an important part of the visitor's experience of Luleå. You help people in various situations and guide them to experiences, activities, and sights in Luleå and the region.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Welcoming and guiding visitors in the tourist center.
Providing tips and recommendations regarding experiences, activities, and events.
Answering questions via phone and email.
Informing about Luleå and Arctic Sweden as a destination.
Working at the cash register and selling souvenirs and branded products.
Handling simple administration and bookings.

The work is varied and sometimes involves a high pace where you need to be able to prioritize and switch between different tasks.

Qualifications

Requirements:

High school diploma.
Very good sense of service and hospitality.
Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Merits:

Good local knowledge of Luleå and the surrounding area.
Experience in tourist information, the tourism industry, or other service roles.
Additional language skills.
