The Role of the Nurse

On the neonatal unit, premature and sick newborns are cared for. The unit has 16 care beds as well as a neonatal day care and clinic. The tasks involve seeing the small child, the child's needs, and supporting the parents. The neonatal unit works based on family-centered care, where the parents' participation in the child's care is central. The tasks vary from neonatal intensive care to work in our family unit. It is a varied job with opportunities for both breadth and depth.

The position is a permanent full-time employment. We are an emergency care department with operations and working hours scheduled during the day, evening, weekend, and night. Start date is by agreement.

Your Future Workplace

The Children's Clinic has approximately 190 employees in the professional categories of doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, care administrators, and educators. The Children's Clinic is like a hospital within a hospital, which means we care for children with all types of illnesses. As a nurse on the neonatal unit, you will become part of the Children's Clinic, and we strive to collaborate for the child's best interest. There are opportunities to develop and work in several of the clinic's units.

Premature and sick newborns from the entire county are cared for on the Neonatal Unit. Approximately 10% of all children born are admitted to the neonatal unit. This corresponds to approximately 400 children/year for us. The neonatal unit is located directly adjacent to the hospital's maternity ward, with which we have close cooperation.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse. We would like you to be, or intend to start training as, a specialist nurse with a focus on health and care for children and young people. It is desirable that you have experience from neonatal care, intensive care, and/or work with sick children.

To thrive in the job, you are a person who is secure and stable and has good cooperation skills. You are structured and can make correct assessments and prioritizations. You thrive with a varied job content, where acute care and intensive care are a significant part of the operations.
