At Anesthesia, Surgery, and Intensive Care, we care for patients and families facing a critical moment. For some, we are the last hope. For others, we create an opportunity for a better life. We invite you to apply to become part of our team.
Do you want to join our team and make a difference?
Do you want to join our team and make a difference for our young patients on the Pediatric Intensive Care and Intermediate Care units? We are looking for two specialist nurses in intensive care who want to make a difference for the children we care for. We work from a family-centered, person-/child-centered perspective. This means that each child is seen as an individual and that the child's guardians are important in the care process to ensure the child feels secure.
You are welcome to observe (hospice) at BIVA to meet us and get a glimpse of the care provided to sick children.
Our Operations
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, BIVA, provides highly specialized intensive care and intermediate care for children within surgery, medicine, neurology, trauma, burns, and infections. The working method is team-based, and great importance is placed on family-centered care, as the child's relatives are an important part of the care. The staff group is highly committed and knowledgeable. We care for children primarily aged 0–16 years, but also up to 18 years.
The unit has facilities adapted to the child and their needs. We are a staff group with high commitment and extensive knowledge. You will have an important role in the collaboration where different professions work together for the best interests of the child. We have a close collaboration with the Academic Children's Hospital. Scientific studies are ongoing on the unit where nurses are directly involved.
MIG/PIG (Mobile Intensive Care Group / Post-Intensive Care Group) has just been launched at BIVA. We are a forward-looking unit with the child at the center. Our mission is to help severely ill children.
Your Role
We offer you an interesting and varied job caring for sick children in need of highly specialized intensive care. As an intensive care nurse at BIVA, you are responsible for planning, leading, and distributing the work together with the team around the patient.
Personal development as well as operational development are natural to you, and you work actively with this in your professional practice. Together with your colleagues, you create a good work environment and contribute a positive attitude to the work group.
The MIG/PIG tasks will also be part of your duties.
(BIVA will also take over all pediatric alarms; this is currently in the implementation phase.)
Your Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with specialist education in intensive care and an interest in caring for our youngest citizens. If you are an individual who has the ability to see opportunities, are curious, and have good collaboration skills, you may be our new colleague.
Experience, education, or qualifications in training can also be meritorious.
What We Offer
We can offer you a permanent full-time position, with start date by agreement. You will receive tailored onboarding based on your competence and experience. With us, you will also receive continuous further education and competence development to strengthen you in your work as an intensive care nurse in pediatric intensive care. With us, you get benefits that make a difference; read about the benefits here: Region Uppsala Benefits (https://regionuppsala.se/formaner/).
