About Us

We manufacture cement, which is the foundation of societal construction, from housing to infrastructure. We care about the climate, people, and nature, and place great emphasis on ensuring that products and working methods are safe, sustainable, and responsible at every stage. At our company, you are expected to take responsibility while having the opportunity to grow in your role within the factory or the group. At the Skövde factory, we are proud of the products we manufacture.

Your Role

One of our skilled employees is moving on to another job, so we are looking for a mechanic for our maintenance department. You will become part of a competent team with good cohesion that enjoys having fun at work. The work is varied. If you are experienced, you will be able to utilize your full competence – and if you are new to the role, you will have experienced colleagues to support you.

We offer varied work in both workshop and factory environments. As a mechanic, you will work with troubleshooting and repairs throughout the factory, and sometimes with new installations. Reporting of your work is done in the SAP system. You collaborate with all departments at the factory as well as with contractors. In addition, you have the opportunity to participate in the department's work to optimize and develop maintenance, and to join working groups within projects, maintenance, and operations. We work with continuous improvement and would like to take advantage of your ideas.

A typical day begins with a group meeting where we review how the factory is running and if there is anything urgent that needs to be addressed. Today's work is prioritized and distributed. Most of the time, you work at least two people together during the day, although solo work also occurs. Tasks can include welding, sheet metal work, mechanical troubleshooting, bearing installation, gearbox repair, hydraulics, or pneumatics. In the morning, there is a short meeting focused on health and safety as well as current information from the factory. We also take time for open discussions regarding ongoing jobs to determine the best way to solve any potential problems.

Your Profile

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience in mechanical work
  • Upper secondary education (High School Diploma)
  • Category B driver's license
  • Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
  • English in speech

Merits:

  • Upper secondary or post-secondary education in mechanical maintenance
  • Experience with gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Experience reading technical drawings
  • Experience with sheet metal work
  • Experience with mechanical troubleshooting

We place great importance on your personal qualities. You enjoy solving problems and collaborating to create good results. Work is performed both in groups and independently, so you need to thrive in both working styles. The work pace varies, and it is important that you adapt to the situation and have the ability to prioritize. You are safety-conscious in everything you do and keep your tools and surroundings tidy. On-call duties may occur.

We value the qualities that diversity and gender balance bring to the business, and therefore welcome applicants with different backgrounds and life experiences.

Benefits

We offer among other things:

  • Collective agreement, with insurance and pension benefits
  • Wellness allowance
  • Reduced working hours
  • Subsidized lunch
  • Free gym membership and other health initiatives
  • Bonus after working for more than six months

Application

This is a fixed-term position until January 31, 2027. The position is daytime hours on weekdays, 07:00–15:30, with some on-call weeks. Shift work may occur during specific urgent circumstances for a short period. Start date as soon as possible, by agreement. Selection and interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, so do not wait with your application.

If you want to know more, you are welcome to contact one of the contacts below via email.
