About the role

This is a full-time consultancy position via Academic Work, starting in August/September until the turn of the year, with excellent opportunities for permanent employment directly with our client – an anonymous global market leader in smart access solutions based in Landskrona. We are currently looking for a Senior Android Developer to join their high-performing R&D team, where you will build production software in demanding environments where stability, security, and world-class architecture are absolute requirements. You will be part of a team of senior developers who share knowledge, maintain a high technical level, and genuinely enjoy the process.

In this role, you will focus on building and further developing robust Android applications (Kotlin/Jetpack Compose) for mobile service tools used by technicians worldwide for field installations and troubleshooting. In your daily work, you will utilize modern architecture and offline-first functionality, write clean and testable code, and collaborate closely across boundaries with firmware, backend, and UX teams. Additionally, advanced AI tools will become a natural sidekick in your daily routine to streamline coding and documentation, allowing you to focus your energy on architecture and complex problem-solving.

Responsibilities

You will focus on building and further developing robust Android applications that ensure global access systems can be installed and maintained efficiently.

• Application Development: Develop and enhance Android applications using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android architecture.
• Field Optimization & Architecture: Build workflows optimized for field technicians, with a special focus on robustness, usability, offline-first functionality, and resilient error handling.
• AI-Driven Software Development: Work in symbiosis with modern AI tools to maintain a high pace in development, debugging, and documentation, while critically reviewing and quality-assuring generated code.
• Quality & Testing: Write clean, testable, and maintainable code, and actively contribute to automated testing (unit, UI, integration) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely across boundaries between mobile, backend, firmware, product owners, and UX designers to integrate software with physical hardware.

We are looking for someone who

• Has advanced knowledge of modern Android development and Kotlin.
• Has good experience with Jetpack Compose and Jetpack libraries.
• Is knowledgeable about asynchronous programming with Coroutines and Flow.
• Has experience with architectural patterns such as MVI or MVVM.
• Is experienced with automated testing (unit, UI, integration).
• Has experience using AI tools to streamline coding and testing.
• Is fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
• Is able to work on-site at the office in Landskrona 3–5 days per week.

It is an advantage if you have

• Knowledge of wireless protocols such as Bluetooth/BLE, NFC, Zigbee, Thread, or Matter.
• Experience with low-level communication (e.g., USB, protocol handling).
• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform.
• Knowledge of cryptography and security solutions (e.g., AES).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and API design.
