Are you ready for an exciting career at Sweden's largest shipyard? Do you want to be part of our team of approximately 100 dedicated problem solvers from all over the world in a fast-paced environment? Each shipbuilding project is led by a project manager who works closely with our steel, piping, and machinery departments to ensure project delivery. As a Foreman, you report to the Department Manager and serve as a reliable support to ensure your department's contribution to the project. The pace is high, and each project lasts on average 10 days.
We are looking for a Foreman for our steel department to handle repairs of all steel structures on the vessel, such as the hull and all welded steel structures.
In the role of Foreman
You and your colleagues in the steel department plan, organize, lead, and monitor all existing work that falls within the department's responsibility. Therefore, you are required to have experience with the tasks to be performed, preferably from the maritime and/or shipbuilding industry. You work closely with and assist the Shift Leader with everything required to ensure successful project delivery. Technical knowledge is also a significant asset in this role.
You coordinate and manage the practical aspects of the project and ensure that the team has what it needs to perform its work.
Qualities
We believe you have operational experience and are a problem solver with strong self-drive. You are meticulous and structured in your work. To succeed in this role, your personal qualities are the most important and absolutely decisive! You should be humble and able to ask for help when needed; in other words, unpretentious. At the same time, you must be demanding and have clear leadership skills. You are proactive, energetic, and flexible, with a positive "can-do" attitude to drive the business forward and create added value. Last but not least, you are pragmatic and take responsibility for your work.
You need to have good knowledge of English, both spoken and written, a valid driver's license for passenger cars, thrive in different cultures, and enjoy working in an international workplace where we come together despite our differences.
We offer
At Oresund DryDocks, you will quickly become part of the team. We offer varied work, with short decision-making paths, in an internationally exciting industry and in a relaxed and inspiring environment. The company consists of a wonderful mix of people from all over the world who are highly competent in their specialized areas.
Here, everyone is equally important and highly valued. We help each other and contribute to making Oresund DryDocks an exciting and developing workplace. Here, you have the opportunity to develop both as a person and in your professional role. You will be able to influence your work in both large and small matters.
Every day we face new opportunities and challenges. You need to be present at the shipyard, and we expect you to support and build trust with customers, subcontractors, and among your colleagues.
