Your Role

As Head of Operations, you are responsible for ensuring a stable and long-term sustainable water and wastewater (VA) supply in Västerås, Hallstahammar, and Surahammar. You lead the daily work with a focus on pipe networks, stormwater facilities, and technical installations, with clear responsibility for delivery security and quality.

The role includes:

• being responsible for the unit's goals, budget, and personnel
• planning, prioritizing, and following up on work
• making decisions regarding operating conditions and handling disruptions
• working systematically with risk assessments, safety, and working environment
• driving the development of working methods for a more efficient and sustainable operation

You work closely with your employees in daily operations while being part of the department's management group, contributing to the development of the business and setting the direction forward. The position requires you to be able to switch between the operational 'here and now' and a more long-term perspective, creating the prerequisites for stable network distribution over time.

Someone who wants to combine operational presence with strategic thinking—someone who can handle what is happening here and now, while also daring to look forward and develop both working methods and people. Perhaps this is your first leadership role, where your post-secondary education combined with previous leadership experience gives you a stable foundation. Here you will grow in the role, make a real difference, and contribute to a socially vital business in constant development.

You have:

• post-secondary education in a relevant field, such as civil engineering, road and water, environment, or water/wastewater technology
• experience in operations, maintenance, or contracting coordination within water/wastewater, industry, or other technical operations
• experience in leading others
• a valid driver's license (Category B)
• good ability to communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and feel comfortable presenting and holding dialogues in various contexts

This is us, your colleagues

You will belong to the Water Distribution Department, led by a department manager and having overall responsibility for securing a stable and sustainable distribution of water services. The department is organized into two units—Operations and Remedial Maintenance—which work closely together to ensure both daily functionality and rapid interventions when needed.

In addition, there is a dedicated team focused on preventive maintenance, which is an important part of strengthening our long-term operational security and developing more proactive working methods. The current unit consists of nine employees with broad competence and a strong commitment to the mission.
