As a Senior Responsible System Owner for IT/OT infrastructure at Trafikverket Ferry Services, you help simplify daily life for residents and businesses across Sweden. You do this by contributing to the infrastructure of the future.

Shipping in Sweden is facing significant changes. At Trafikverket Ferry Services, we are undergoing a transformation process towards electrification, climate adaptation, and digitalization that will impact our approximately 70 ferries, 750 employees, and 22 million passengers. Trafikverket Ferry Services aims to be at the forefront, driving development towards more sustainable and smart solutions. Through our long-term plan, Vision 45, we work to achieve carbon-neutral ferry operations by 2045. Electrifying the fleet is a crucial part of this journey, as is the development of smart solutions that enhance operations, safety, and efficiency. To achieve our goals, we are now strengthening our organization with a Responsible System Owner for IT/OT infrastructure who ensures an efficient and manageable infrastructure.

Responsibilities

As the Responsible System Owner for IT/OT infrastructure, you are the central point of accountability for the digital infrastructure, from requirement to delivery. You hold overall responsibility for the service lifecycle, which includes the ships' digital infrastructure, control systems, OT networks, simulators, digital twins, ROC, and associated IT and cybersecurity functions. You are responsible for ensuring a cohesive, standardized, and long-term manageable digital infrastructure for the entire ship fleet. This involves ensuring controlled version management between ships, high operational availability throughout the lifecycle, and that deliveries meet Trafikverket's requirements, current regulations, and strategic goals. In this role, you connect the ferry management's governance with technical development, IT, OT, operational activities, suppliers, and regulatory compliance. This is not a coordinating role but a senior governance function with clear responsibility for governance, results, and budget. You have the mandate to make decisions within the approved roadmap and budget, including change management, technical baseline, patch strategy, supplier management, and lifecycle measures. The role entails strategic responsibility where you translate business goals into technical governance and ensure that development, management, and cybersecurity are conducted in a coordinated and long-term manner across the entire ship fleet.

Your responsibilities will include among other things:

  • responsibility for technical baseline and configuration management
  • develop and manage the long-term roadmap
  • responsibility for budget and prioritization
  • lead the Change Advisory Board (CAB)
  • ensure cybersecurity and regulatory compliance
  • responsibility for supplier management and SLA
  • report risks, status, and deviations to management
  • follow developments in relevant technology and regulatory areas
  • plan and drive retroactive harmonization of ship series

This role is central to ensuring that Ferry Services' digital infrastructure develops uniformly, securely, and sustainably over the entire lifecycle of the ship fleet.

Qualifications

You need to thrive in a role with significant responsibility where you are expected to lead cross-functionally and set the direction for future shipping. You are flexible, self-motivated, and have good ability to collaborate and build relationships internally with colleagues, managers, as well as external stakeholders.

You combine strategic holistic vision with deep technical understanding and have the ability to make decisions in complex issues with many stakeholders. You are clear and structured in communication with management and operations, and have a good ability to build cross-functional collaboration without linear authority. You have high integrity and the ability to handle a complex risk picture, driven by creating conditions for manageability and long-term sustainability.

We are looking for someone who

  • has a university degree in a relevant field or other experience and education that Trafikverket deems equivalent
  • has understanding of IT/OT integration in production-critical operational environments
  • has experience in system management and lifecycle management for complex environments
  • has knowledge of cybersecurity: NIS2, IEC 62443, ISO/IEC 27001
  • has the ability to own and communicate technical roadmap to management
  • has a driver's license

It is meritorious if you

  • have experience in complex supplier management and contract complexity
  • have experience with ITIL and Change Advisory Board (CAB)
  • have experience with budget responsibility or financial control
  • Have many years of experience from critical infrastructure
  • have experience in strategic system management
  • have experience in maritime operations
  • have experience with digital twins
  • have experience in OT security
