We are now looking for a Chief Architect who wants to take a holistic approach to architecture and lead the direction forward. Our mission is unique: our solutions are used throughout the Swedish Government Offices and at over 100 Swedish embassies and consulates worldwide. Here, you will work with a combination of complexity, public benefit, and global reach that few other organizations can offer.

About the role
This is a central and strategic role with overall responsibility for shaping, developing, and coordinating all architecture within our organization. It is a key role in realizing our digitalization strategy.
As Chief Architect, you have a leading role but are not a line manager. You lead through expertise, influence, and collaboration. You are the hub that makes enterprise architecture function as a cohesive discipline, and you guide our architects toward a common vision. You work closely with management, business units, and architects, and have the mandate to shape a modern, sustainable, and strategically anchored architecture.
Your mission:
- Have primary responsibility for all architecture – business, information, application, and technical architecture.
- Lead and coordinate EA work, ensuring structure, direction, and quality.
- Be the organization's foremost architectural advisor and strategic partner.
- Ensure that architecture supports the business's goals, strategies, and change initiatives.
- Drive forward common principles, guidelines, and target architectures.
- Support and coach architects in various parts of the organization, without being their direct manager.
- Create conditions for long-term stability and innovation in our architecture.

Your background
Requirements:
- University degree or professional experience considered equivalent.
- Documented multi-year experience as an Enterprise Architect or Chief Architect.
- Experience in developing EA governance, principles, guidelines, and models.
- Experience in establishing a self-sustaining EA function.
- Experience in business-driven development and requirements analysis.
- Good understanding of modern technical platforms, integration architecture, and information models.
- Very good understanding of requirements for security, privacy, and regulatory compliance in complex operations.
- Experience in building internal architecture capabilities and training organizations.
- Excellent ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
Merits:
- Experience from the public sector or other regulated industries.
- Experience in establishing common platforms and technical frameworks.
- Knowledge of architecture methods such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, or similar.
- Experience with AI-related architecture, data platforms, or cloud strategies.
- Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud solutions.
- Experience with architecture governance and executive-level advisory.
- Experience in building internal architecture capabilities and training organizations.
- Experience with agile development methods.

Other information
We are looking for one or more experienced Enterprise Architects. The position is a permanent employment starting with a six-month probation period. Start date by agreement. The position is security classified, which means a security check with register control will be conducted before employment. You must be a Swedish citizen, but may have a foreign background.
