About Us

The Sexual Medicine Centre is a specialist clinic with clinical treatment operations focusing on sexual medicine issues. We work in a cross-professional manner based on both medical and psychosocial competence, guided by a rights-based perspective. This means that everyone, regardless of functionality, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual identity, and sexual practice, should feel welcome and experience good care.

Our patients come from the entire Västra Götaland Region. In addition to direct patient contact, the unit has a consultative role to offer support to neighboring care providers and supervision in specific cases.

The team at the Sexual Medicine Centre in Gothenburg currently consists of midwives, a physiotherapist, doctors, and psychologists with sexological and therapeutic competence. The team also includes a nurse, a care administrator, and a business manager. We work closely with the Knowledge Centre for Sexual Health. We are a work group that values good community and collegial cooperation to create a supportive and pleasant working environment together.

About the Work

As a physiotherapist, you work clinically with the assessment of psychophysiological factors, movement quality, and the ability for autonomous regulation, which can be related to sexual difficulties. You work with treatment where the focus is on body awareness, regulation of bodily stress reactions, and pelvic floor dysfunction, both individually and in groups. At the clinic, you meet patients who have pain during sex, reduced libido and sexual response, fear of sex, gender dysphoria, and sexual compulsivity. Several of our patients have experience of sexual trauma and/or other difficult experiences.

About You

We are looking for you who are a licensed physiotherapist and have several years of experience in treatment work with patients where sexual difficulties are part of the anamnesis. You have worked in psychiatry or in another activity that meets complex psychophysiological problems. Further education in body awareness, sexology, and pelvic floor dysfunction is meritorious. We place great importance on your ability to collaborate and that you are secure in your professional role. As a person, you are flexible, appreciate working in a team, are development-oriented, and have a professional approach and attitude.

Conditions

The position is a project employment of 60–80 percent for one year, with the possibility of extension.

Interviews will be held on August 13 and 14.

Salary: Monthly salary, individual salary setting.
