Radiology and MRI Physics is a unit under the Radiation Physics Area. The unit coordinates radiation protection work in operations involving X-ray radiation and advocates for optimized radiation use, ensuring that the medical purpose of the examination or procedure is achieved with the lowest possible radiation dose to the patient. The unit also participates in procurement, quality assurance, and educational initiatives within the field.

All regional radiology physicists are employed at the Radiology and MRI Physics unit. We are a team consisting of 15 hospital physicists, one engineer, and one biomedical analyst who together support the region's radiology operations with our expertise.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you work closely with various operations and contribute to strong radiation protection through a preventive and consultative approach. You provide advice on radiation protection issues, train staff, and collaborate with operations to create safe and efficient work processes.

The work is varied and includes, among other things, optimization of examination methods, development of working methods, and participation in quality and improvement work. You also contribute your physics expertise to projects, investigations, and procurements within the field.

Working hours are during the day, Monday to Friday, which provides good opportunities for balance between work and leisure.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who apply are a licensed hospital physicist with authorization to work within Swedish healthcare, with a focus on radiology physics. Additionally, you have language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale and have good language skills in English in both speech and writing. Experience working as a hospital physicist with a focus on radiology, specialist competence, and completed doctoral studies are meritorious.

We want you as a person to be analytical, have high integrity, and good collaboration skills. You are accustomed to working both independently and in a group. Structure and the ability to complete the work tasks you are responsible for are required for the position. We would like you to be outgoing and have a high degree of flexibility, documentation skills, and the ability to see the big picture. You are pedagogical and thrive in the role of a lecturer; training different professional groups within healthcare constitutes a large part of the job duties.

In the overall assessment, we weigh in personal qualities that are valuable for the position, namely being driving and collaboration-oriented with good social competence.
