Do you enjoy varied work? Do you thrive in leadership roles? Do you want to be part of high-quality psychiatric care?

Then you are warmly welcome as a nurse with us!

Specialist Psychiatric Ward 4 offers assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for patients with substance use disorders as well as patients with psychotic illnesses. Here, we care for patients supported by the Health and Medical Services Act (HSL), the Care of Persons with Severe Mental Illness Act (LPT), the Care of Young Persons Act (LRV), the Care of Mentally Disordered Persons Act (LVU), and the Compulsory Mental Care Act (LVM). Our patients often have both somatic and psychiatric care needs.

Patients arrive at the ward via the psychiatric emergency department, are referred through social services, or self-refer through our detoxification unit (TNE), which is operated in collaboration with the county's municipalities. Admissions are accepted 24/7, with an average length of stay of approximately three to five days.

As a nurse on Ward 4, you have a leadership role and are responsible for the psychiatric care of inpatients together with doctors, nursing assistants, and discharge coordinators. Together with the other nurses, you are responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. Your duties also include support and motivational conversations with patients, as well as contact with other healthcare providers, the municipality, and relatives/next of kin.

Responsibilities

Standard nursing duties: Medication management, blood sampling, assessment, care responsibility with a special focus on psychiatric care, and leadership.

Qualifications

Specialist nurse with a specialization in psychiatry, or a registered nurse without a specialist degree. In the event of employment, specialist training will be part of the individual competence development plan. Experience from addiction care is meritorious.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working closely with patients and keeping the patient's best interests in mind.

You should be confident in yourself and in your role as a nurse. You are interested in working with both care and treatment interventions for patients with severe psychiatric symptoms in the acute phase, as well as working together with the team to ensure good and safe care and treatment. Work in the unit is based on great commitment, responsiveness, a positive basic attitude, and good collegial camaraderie, which requires teamwork skills and social competence. You have an ethical and professional approach in all interactions. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.

We look forward to receiving your application!
