About the position

We are looking for a personal assistant for a man in his 60s living in northern Gotland. He lives with ALS and needs safe, professional, and respectful support in his daily life. Here you will have an important role in a small work team where continuity, responsibility, and cooperation are crucial.

This is a job for you who are responsible, sensitive, and understand the importance of integrity, self-determination, and continuity. As a personal assistant, you work closely with the client and are an important support in his daily life. The work is performed in the home and in the environments where he is present.

The tasks may include among other things:

• Personal care
• Support in daily routines
• Mobility assistance
• Accompaniment during activities and errands
• Practical support at home

The work requires presence, patience, and the ability to adapt to the client's daily condition and needs.

The work is structured, and you will receive a clear introduction to aids and routines.

Working hours and employment

The client has assistance around the clock. Working hours are 8:00-16:00, 16:00-22:30, and 22:00-08:30 (awake night). We believe that you, as an applicant, either want to work day/evening or night.

The position is full-time or part-time and is scheduled according to agreement. We strive for continuity and long-term planning in scheduling. We appreciate that you are flexible with working hours and also have the possibility to work weekends.

The employment starts with an hourly contract until you have gotten to know the client and the tasks better. If the personal chemistry works between you and the client, it can transition into a permanent position.

Since we are actively recruiting, we would appreciate it if you could start immediately and work for most of the summer.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
• Category B driver's license and access to a car (mileage allowance is provided if specific requirements are met)
• Ability to work independently and responsibly
• Ability to work according to the position's schedule (day/evening or night)

Merits:

• Experience working as a personal assistant
• Experience with ALS or other neurological diseases
• Healthcare and care education (e.g., nursing assistant)
