As a Prefabricated Bridge Installation Supervisor at the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket), you play a key role in easing daily life for residents and businesses across Sweden. You do this by contributing to the infrastructure of the future.

This Installation Supervisor role belongs to the Vehicle Resources business area. We are a small profit center with significant resources in an expansion phase, playing a vital part in building the Total Defence, primarily the Civil Defence. We prepare ourselves to meet both anticipated and unforeseen events to keep Sweden connected by ensuring that roads, railways, air, and waterways remain functional during various societal disruptions.

As an Installation Supervisor, you are a practitioner with high technical knowledge who is willing to get hands-on where needed. The role is highly varied and at times physically demanding, requiring you to be in good physical shape. You have the ability to see both the details and the big picture in operations. You will have increased responsibility for specific bridge components/material, where you maintain order, conduct inventories, and perform maintenance. You must be able to lead others both in material handling and during operations or bridge installations. The role also involves collaborating with logistics managers or depot staff regarding resource and transport needs.

You will lead personnel, both internally and externally. You will work to ensure a safe working environment and conduct self-inspections during bridge installation, followed by scheduled post-inspections. In most cases, you will lead others who have bridge knowledge, but you must also be able to lead and train personnel without prior bridge experience, which is why strong pedagogical skills are essential. You must be able to find safe solutions rather than focusing on limitations. Upon starting this position, you will receive internal training in bridge installation.

When a bridge construction project starts, you will receive a method description explaining the bridge's installation. It is important that you work with precision and pressure based on drawings and construction documents.

The position involves work at our depots and at other locations. You will be out in the field for week-long periods throughout the year in various operations. These include operations where we primarily support the Swedish Transport Administration and society, as well as assisting colleagues in other regions across the country. We operate nationwide with operations, warehousing, and bridge installation.

As an operational resource within Vehicle Resources, you work to ensure that our equipment, vehicles, and materials maintain high quality and are ready for deployment. The work includes, among other things, Bandvagn (tracked vehicles), power generators, protective equipment, consumables, as well as heavier vehicles and machinery.

We are looking for someone who

• has a high school diploma with a technical focus, or a university education in civil engineering, or other education combined with experience we consider comparable
• has previous experience in bridge construction
• has experience in a supervisory role where you have had responsibility for and led personnel
• is accustomed to reading drawings, measuring angles, heights, and slopes
• has experience working in various computer systems, including MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• holds a Class B driver's license for manual transmission vehicles
• has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

The following are meritorious:

• knowledge and practical experience in geotechnics
• experience in producing drawing documentation
• driver's license with C/CE entitlement
• operator certificate for loader and forklift
• professional certificate for truck-mounted cranes over 18 ton-meters
• experience in developing activity, time, and resource plans
