Accelerator is a place where art, research, and societal issues meet. Based on exhibitions featuring Swedish and international contemporary art, a public program is formed where researchers, artists, students, and the general public meet in discussions about essential contemporary issues. Accelerator is funded by Stockholm University and external donors. Currently, five full-time and four part-time employees work at Accelerator, along with a group of temporary exhibition guides. Job Description
As an exhibition guide, you will work in Accelerator's exhibition halls as well as in the reception area at the entrance. You will welcome visitors, direct them, and be ready to guide them through the exhibitions, answer questions, and discuss the art. An important part of the job is giving introductions and tours of the exhibitions. The role also involves assisting with public events. Assistance with the installation and dismantling of exhibitions may also be required. Some working hours will be scheduled for evenings and weekends.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a lively interest in art, particularly contemporary art. You are skilled at engaging visitors in in-depth conversations about art and society. You have experience giving tours of art exhibitions. You are responsible, solution-oriented, and patient. Proficiency in languages other than Swedish and English is highly advantageous, as is experience in similar roles at art and cultural institutions. Personal suitability is given great importance.
About the Position
The position is fixed-term, normally one or two days per week according to specific agreement. Start date in September or as agreed.
