As a Assembly Manager for temporary bridges at the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket), you help make daily life easier for residents and businesses across Sweden. You do this by contributing to the infrastructure of the future.

This Assembly Manager role belongs to the Vehicle Resources business area. We are a small profit center with significant resources in an expansion phase, playing a key role in building the Total Defence, primarily the Civil Defence. We are preparing to meet both anticipated and unforeseen events to keep Sweden connected by ensuring roads, railways, air, and sea transport function during various societal disruptions.

As an Assembly Manager, you are a practitioner with high technical knowledge who is willing to get hands-on where needed. The role is highly varied and sometimes physically demanding, requiring you to be in good physical shape. You have the ability to see both details and the big picture in operations. You will have increased responsibility for specific bridge components/materials, where you maintain order, conduct inventories, and perform maintenance. You must be able to lead others in both material handling and during operations or bridge assembly. The role also involves collaborating with logistics managers or depot staff regarding resource and transport needs.

You will lead personnel, both internally and externally. You will work to ensure a safe working environment and conduct self-inspections during bridge assembly, followed by scheduled follow-up inspections. In most cases, you will lead others who have bridge knowledge, but you must also be able to lead and train personnel without prior bridge experience, which is why strong pedagogical skills are important. You should be able to find safe solutions instead of focusing on limitations. Upon starting this position, you will receive internal training in bridge assembly.

At the start of a bridge construction project, you will receive a method description explaining the bridge assembly. It is important that you work with precision and pressure based on drawings and construction documents.

The position involves work both at our depots and at other locations. You will be out in the field for week-long periods throughout the year in various operations. This includes primarily supporting the Swedish Transport Administration and society, but also helping colleagues in other regions across the country. We operate nationwide with operations, warehousing, and bridge assembly.

As an operational resource within Vehicle Resources, you work to ensure that our equipment, vehicles, and materials maintain high quality and are ready for deployment. The work includes, among other things, Bandvagn vehicles, power generators, protective equipment, supplies, as well as heavier vehicles and machinery.

We are looking for someone who

• has a high school diploma with a technical focus, or a university education in civil engineering or another education combined with experience we consider comparable
• has previous experience in bridge construction
• has experience in a supervisory role where you were responsible for and led personnel
• is accustomed to reading drawings, measuring angles, heights, and slopes
• has experience working in various computer systems, including MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• holds a B-driver's license for a manual transmission car
• has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

It is an advantage if you

• have knowledge and practical experience in geotechnics
• have experience in creating drawing documentation
• hold a C/CE driver's license
• have a forklift operator certificate
• hold a professional certificate for truck-mounted cranes over 18 ton-meters
• have experience in developing activity, time, and resource plans
