The Security and Preparedness Department is looking for an engaged and driven Preparedness Coordinator who wants to help develop our important work in civil preparedness. Your workplace

The mission of the Preparedness Unit is to support all of Region Värmland's operations within the area of civil preparedness (crisis preparedness and civil defense). Some of our areas of responsibility include risk and vulnerability analyses, continuity management, and the region's crisis leadership organization. The unit is also responsible for the region's "Tjänsteman i beredskap" (TiB) function.

The unit is organized within the Security and Preparedness Department, which, in addition to civil preparedness, is also responsible for the region's security protection, general security, e-service cards, and passage administration.

The department is also responsible for the region's work against welfare crime and coordinates and handles several of Region Värmland's property and liability insurances. The department has approximately 30 employees, of whom eight currently work within the preparedness area.

The work with crisis preparedness and civil defense is a prioritized area for Region Värmland where rapid development is taking place, something you as an employee will have the chance to be a part of. Your responsibilities

The area of civil defense is largely influenced and directed by national guidelines, which may change over time based on the external situation and the state's priorities. This means that as a Preparedness Coordinator with a focus on civil defense, you need to be well-versed in the most current directives and how they can affect the region's mission.

The work with civil defense is largely conducted in project form, often in close collaboration with other operations. In this role, you coordinate and develop the work and ensure support and follow-up as needed. It includes creating, planning, and conducting training and exercises within the area of civil preparedness.

The tasks are varied and involve both analytical and investigative duties as well as practical coordination of processes and activities. As a Preparedness Coordinator, you achieve goals and results largely by collaborating with others, both internally within Region Värmland and in external cooperation forums.

Your skills and competencies

We are looking for you who have a relevant academic education or equivalent experience that the employer deems comparable. We would appreciate it if you have experience planning and conducting knowledge-raising activities, training, and exercises. It is important that you feel confident in giving lectures, workshops, and leading meetings.

To succeed in this role, you need to have the ability to switch perspectives between a high-level overview and practical implementation. We are looking for you who have good communication skills, are a team player, and have a strong security awareness. We value if you are independent, proactive, structured, results-oriented, and possess a very good ability to collaborate.

Meritorious experience:

• Experience working with issues within civil preparedness
• Work within a preparedness authority
• Experience leading development work within public administration
• Experience with staff and command work
• Experience with project management

The work may involve travel. Possession of a Category B driver's license is therefore a requirement. The position is security-classified, which implies a security check with register control according to the Security Protection Act. The employment requires Swedish citizenship.
