Do you enjoy working close to production and technology, where your contribution makes a real difference in everyday operations? We are now looking for a Maintenance Mechanic for our facility that recycles batteries from electric vehicles. You will help ensure stable and safe production in a modern, technologically advanced facility that is constantly evolving.
About the Battery Facility
At our battery facility, we work with recycling lithium-ion batteries from electric cars and the automotive industry in a modern and technologically advanced production environment. The facility is a key part of Stena Recycling's commitment to circular solutions, enabling valuable metals and materials to be recycled and reused instead of extracting new raw materials. The facility combines established industrial processes with new technology and is in constant development. There is a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement, with work carried out in close collaboration between production, maintenance, and engineering.
Job Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will work close to production in a process industry where both manual tasks and automated processes interact. Your contribution is crucial for the facility to operate safely and efficiently. You will perform preventive, corrective, and improvement maintenance on production equipment and processes. The tasks include troubleshooting, service, repairs, planned maintenance interventions, and participation in improvement and development work to increase operational reliability.
In this role, you will among other things:
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs during operational disruptions
- Work with preventive and planned maintenance
- Participate in improvement and development projects
- Work in our maintenance system for registering and tracking work orders
- Perform mechanical tasks such as bearing replacements, lubrication, welding, and other common maintenance interventions
- Work closely with production to create stable and efficient processes
You will become part of a team currently consisting of three maintenance mechanics, two engineers, and a technical manager, and you will also collaborate closely with production staff, external contractors, and suppliers.
Working Hours
The position is based on day shifts, Monday–Friday, 07:00–15:30. However, working hours may change over time based on operational needs.
Who are you?
We believe you are a practical person with a strong technical interest and experience in maintenance work in an industrial environment. You thrive working close to production and are motivated by solving problems, finding root causes, and improving processes. As a person, you are responsible, solution-oriented, and engaged in your work. You collaborate well with others but are also confident in driving your work forward independently. You are eager to contribute ideas and improvement suggestions and enjoy working in a developing operation.
Qualifications
We look for you to have:
- Experience in maintenance work
- Mechanical background
- High school education
- Good computer skills
- Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
- Valid driver's license (Category B)
Additional qualifications that are meritorious:
- Experience with electrical work
- Forklift license
- Hot work certification
- Experience with maintenance systems, preferably MaintMaster
Development Opportunities
Here, you will become part of a team where colleagues help each other and share knowledge. We provide you with a thorough introduction and the conditions to succeed in the role. We invest in competence development, and as part of a larger group, there are good opportunities for growth – both in your role and within the organization.
Information about the Recruitment Process
The application deadline is August 31, but since selection is ongoing, we may fill the position earlier. To ensure a fair and objective process, we ask you to answer our initial screening questions instead of sending a cover letter. If you meet the requirements, you will be asked to complete a work psychological test as part of the overall assessment. We offer a six-month probationary period and conduct background checks.
If you have questions about the position, you are welcome to contact the responsible recruiter, Erica, via [email protected], or the hiring manager, Safet, via [email protected]. Due to holiday periods, response times from our side may be slightly delayed.
